The Labour Government

He wasn’t elected but had his tentacles deep in U.K. Government when Johnson was in charge. Their actions of how they lied, broke rules they implemented in a global emergency, sorted their mates out with contracts that were never fulfilled and the money pocketed. Yes it’s true why we have a hate of people who are involved in politics and this horrific example of a bag of skin is a prime reason why we do.

Brexit was bad enough but the shear waste of money the Government managed during covid in things like business loans which were fraudulently claimed and ppe that was never needed is another one of the reasons there’s a huge black hole in the country’s finances.

Lisa Nandy, Minister for Sport, "unknowingly" breaking ministerial code by giving the top job for the new Football Regulator to the guy who funded her election campaign.

Good to see the adults in charge, even if they seem to not know a lot about the rules...
Meanwhile, Tory donor rake it in thanks to ridiculous contracts awarded them for hotels

Lots of people saying how much of a **** Cummins is whilst refusing to pass comment on what he actually said about Lammy which appears to be bang on the money but lefties would never dare to admit it because it doesn’t align with their agenda. Just saying.

Naah, he’s a ****, and possibly a racist **** as well.

I’m not a fan of Lammy but he’s got a masters of law degree from Harvard and yet Cummings thinks he would be overpromoted working as a shop assistant manager and puts his position down to the colour of his skin. It’s quite clearly not bang on the money and thinking it is shows your agenda, no one else’s.

Lammy isn't a lefty.

He's a careerist politician who blows in the wind.

Is it fair to say that general;ly people can see through the issues Labour are facing and can see 14 years of Tory fuck-uppery have left us in this state?

I mean I am seeing that said sometimes especially in relation to immigration and prisons, but is that aa general feeling ?

I know Labour bring their own issues and twattery btw.
It wasn’t just 14 years of the Conservatives. There are issues which have affected us as, if not more, impactfully.

We’ve never really recovered from the US banks fucking up the world economy/economies in the 00s.

The UK economy and housing market was booming before the 2007 (in the USA) and 2008 (in the UK) financial crisis. In the years before that crash, we (regular people) have never had it better in this country.

The Conservative+LibDem Coalition Austeity measures held the country in the same place after the crisis with little investment in anything and keeping wages stagnant meaning the population wasn’t spending money to take the economy forward. Austerity was meant to reduce the national debt but we ended up being further in debt than before.

Tories then bringing about the EU Ref and not being able to deal with the fallout after it and not being able to get a deal sorted for the good of the country…

Covid is the next biggest issue to hit the country outside the 2008 financial crisis…

Wasting £billions£ on things that are of no benefit to us or have been dodgy…

Russia invading Ukraine and having to find alternative more expensive fossil fuel sources…

The economy has just never been allowed to properly sort itself out since 2008. Half the things that have happened to Labour then Tories were out of their control, but often they didn’t deal with the fallout well.

We need some stability.

I won’t mind tax going up if Labour can show they are taking us forward with some positive economic moves and investment, more green policies, nationalising our public services, improve the NHS and reducing immigration.

The current Labour govt have had a bit of a continuation from the Tories with stupid goings on and sleeze… immigration is still out of control, as is crime… but they do need time to turn these things around.

But there are good things they’ve done including lifting the ban on land wind turbines, approving solar farms, setting up Great British Energy, the plan for setting up Great British Railways, further devolution in England…

It’d only be fair to give them a few years before saying how good a job they’re doing in general. But they do need to get away from the stupid things going like prisoner mistaken releases.

So after years of the Tories gutting the economy and public services we now have Labour who maybe arent quite as corrupt but are certainly as fucking useless. The country is moving towards Reform as the next government and the destruction of everything I thought the UK stood for will be complete. How thoroughly depressing. Looking on the bright side Reform might just be the kick start Wales and Scotland need to quit moaning and do something to self determine their own future but I have my doubts even about that.

Reeves is doing a horrendous job and it beggars belief that she is within a country mile of the second most important job in the country. The time for them to tell the truth to voters was before the election not just before her second budget. Where are the much vaunted grown ups because from where i'm standing I can't see many.

Reform can barely run a council let alone a country, lets not forget being in Government in todays world is literally impossible - there's no way a government can make everyone comfortably well off and happy, it won't happen. always be a wealth difference, always be tax increases, inflation and interest rates will always fluctuate and there will always be never ending 'scandals' especially in our ever increasing media spotlight world.

There's along way to go before the next election, Reform might be favourite now but often far right parties expose themselves for what they are and we can not also rule out various coalitions - Labour/Lib Dem for example.
