Is the club going to put in an official complaint about the officiating on Saturday?

According to an article on VAR on the BBC he was offside but not really!

The new technology was supposed to clear this all up. Gone were the manually drawn lines placed onto a TV picture, replaced with a slick animation. But that has not always been the case.

Much of it is about the little known tolerance level, or margin for error, added to the technology in the Premier League.

In every other competition, offside is given to the millimetre; in the Premier League there is 5cm grace which is effectively the width of the green line. Gudmundsson is given onside because his foot is within it.

Guimaraes, too, was just ahead of Dias but within the tolerance level.

So there we have it, PL gives a 5cm tolerance level and whilst Guimaraes was offside he wasn't offside enough!
This is why the PL/PIGMOL were reluctant to bring the SA offside in. They did tests with it and using the lines and found the lines were more accurate. So they waited a year (or two?) for the updated tech to be released and still delayed that being used.

They got moaned at for all that, but I think they were right.

No cause we are not entitled dippers and hold a candlelight vigil when a close decision goes against us
I wish that was true, but we’ve been quite bad for it for about a decade now. Only difference is, the media don’t get behind us and run with the furore.

Don’t get me wrong, we get our fair share of bad decisions go against us, but the issue is more about bad decisions going on across the league every week. But fans of every club only concentrate on the decisions that go against them, they all do their insular moaning and conspiratorial shit about how their club is targeted and their rivals are favoured. No set of fans take in the wider issue and the problem never gets solved.

There’s absolutely no point whatsoever in moaning about individual referee decisions anymore. All that achieves is makes other sets of fans laugh at us… that goes for us when we piss ourselves at other sets of fans when it’s them doing the moaning after being hard done to n’all. We were doing exactly that at 3.30pm Saturday afternoon when Forest had a goal remain for what we said was offside the other week for Liverpool against us.

Moaning about individual decisions or games and doing at as a sole set of fans does fucking nothing, it’s done nothing for generations. It doesn’t turn the clock back to magic those decisions being reversed and it doesn’t improve officiating going forward, as generations of evidence proves.

What we need to do is:
1. Use City Matters to lobby the club to group together with the other clubs to put pressure on the PL and PIGMOL to improve the standard of officiating.
2. Use 1894 to group together with other sets of fans like we did over ticketing last season to organise with the Football Supporters Association to launch a campaign to demand that the PL and PIGMOL improve the standard of officiating.
3. Use 1894 to group together with other sets of fans like we did over ticketing last season to organise with the Football Supporters Association to launch a campaign to demand that coaches and players stop with their incessant cheating which all makes officiating harder and prevents people wanting to become an official in this sport which reduces the talent pool of officials as well as being an issue with making the game worse to watch.
4. We need to stop moaning about individual decisions, what we need to do instead is use City Matters to lobby the club to group together with the other clubs to create a database of incorrect decisions across all games, used as evidence to present to the PL and PIGMOL to show them the number of mistakes that are made is unacceptable.

Nothing at all is going to ever change with fans just moaning about individual decisions in the pub and on fans’ forums. Back seat moaners who do nowt about it is fucking boring me to death to be honest. The standard of officials in this sport isn’t good enough and moaning about their individual decisions from afar will do nowt to improve the core problems.

We can’t do this as one individual set of fans either, we’ll just be laughed at if we do that. We need to do this as a combined front across the country.

Is there anyone from City Matters or 1894 on here who’d be up for starting movement on this?

It will be an utter waste of time and just end up with all other fans laughing at us like we laugh at the dippers’s antics.
Unlike Liverpool whining about a goal that wouldn't have changed the outcome against us, we're talking 2 clear penalty decisions, an offside goal, and several of their players not getting booked which could have led to second yellows.

If you think complaining against the officiating is futile then fool you, i don't.

I get folk not wanting to fuss about close decisions and the offside one was marginal either way. What I am still pretty bloody angry about is the foul on Foden. It was a reckless foul that could have broken a bone easily. No action from either the referee or VAR. Inexcusable and the club has to ask for an explanation.

Your sure you would have the exact same opinion if if involved a different team?
Have you seen where they have drawn the line from? The rule is that it should be the bottom of the armpit, it’s halfway down his arm where his sleeve finishes?

I'm just bloody tired from officials learning how to use VAR or implementing new rules in our matches, but reverting to status quo in matches by the red tops.
At the end of the day, I can't care enough to blame the inept officials anymore, so I will grasp at straws and blame the fucking international calendar for disrupting the season and our rhythm.

There’s no ‘they’ drawing lines anymore. It’s all done by AI after the point where VAR stops the footage where the ball is played.

We should know this because it was a City game (City v Palace PL game in April) which was the first ever time semiautomatic offside was available in the PL.

And demand audio on it
That's what I meant to say. We should demand the full audio of that offside decision.

People say we aren't scousers but that's not the point. You stand up to bullies and Webb is bullying us. The overall result wasn't unfair; probably should've been 4-2 to them, but the officiating was grossly unfair.

This all day long. Bothroyd on Ref Watch this morning was adamant it was a penalty. He even pointed out that it was reckless because Schar was off the ground with studs up. Anywhere else in the pitch it would be seen as a late challenge, so a free kick and at least a yellow card.

erm no. just like the liverpool game they were very tight calls and the refs didnt call it on the field and so VAR deemed them not clear and obvious enough to overturn

I AM FINE WITH THAT

You’re all virgins

jesus get a grip you’re arguing about which frame of the game they stopped on and which pixel they drew a line in powerpoint

theres no conspiracy you mental
