Back pain/sciatica

Buy a resistance band that will take your weight....find a set of goalposts on a park type area and sling the band over the bar..looping it within itself so its secured with a dangling loop to somewhere around head height. Put your head and hands through the loop and under you armpits and drop down like a baby in one of them bouncy doorway chair contraptions.

Once youve dropoed by means of a crouch or a split type squat your torso can turn/function independent of your legs so you can easilly manipulate many obtuse shapes not readily accessible to ya without the band or a great degree of balance/strength. Stay there and play with the positions for time.

Continuous 30/50 reps for sets dropping into a wide ( shoulder width or more) squat so youre mimmicking bouncing your bollocks (leaning back will auto throw your pelvic bone fwd) off the floor will have you p*ssing like a camel within a week.

Cheat cossack squats become reachable for all ages because of the bands lines to the bar assisting any newbies, same for Bulgarian squats. You'll be suprised how fast the splits are achievable if you start tripping off it..only thing that will let you down is embarrassment and your imagination

Total cost £15

Anyone had the bilateral lower lumbar medial branch block injections for bulging/herniated discs?
Booked in for these after 20 years of jip in my spine and want to get off 'Tramadol Nights'.

Keep your standing leg locked straight, hold for time perfect letter T

Unfortunately the lass is not particularly good at it but think egg shapes...might be easier in the dead bug position on your bed, have your thighs just past right angles

Memories of gilligan saturday mornings in the ym

Had one last week - same as BAs outcome - nada - not a pleasant experience either, some profanities coming out the doctors room when that liquid went in my spine.

Having endoscopic lumbar tomorrow morning (similar to microdiscectomy but slightly smaller incision hole) for herniated disc on L5 S1 but all good at the moment as I’ve just necked a tranquilizer.

Yep they shaved off the bone and touch wood it’s worked so far three years on, although in winter it aches but so do my knees because I’m an old fucker now ;)
Sending a PM if ok as just had some post op questions and followed your journey on this thread

That's a quick turnaround from the injections to the endoscopy mate,I was under the impression I'd have to wait weeks to see if it works?
Not looking forward to it but tried nearly everything else so it giving a stab(pun intended).

10 days in between but the doctor said results should be seen within 48 hours - he wasn’t hopeful due to the size of the herniation on the mri. Will try and PM you when possible when I get back home with feedback. Have been watching a lot of YouTube videos of people pre and post op which has been very helpful.

I couldn’t squat like that when I was a kid, never mind now at 73.
Me too, I hated anything to do with knee bending in pe as a kid. Always hurt. I envy folk who have pliable bodies.

Anyone got any remedies for horrendous plantar fasciitis? Absolutely wrecking on my left heel. Had it right foot under foot arch for a year during covid, however it disappeared after 12 months, but this side going on for last 4 months and happens even when am sitting down. Sending me nuts, very painful. I'm walking like I'm about 90!!

If you have ^ a ladder about you..take advantage of the roundish/slimmish rungs and perform calf raises from deep in the negative drop position to level.

You can do it on a pair of steps but a ladder is ideal ( rung more agreeable than a step)...a section of soil pipe with a t joint on one end( stops it spinning off) ..placed within handling position of a wall gives another alternative.

Place an olde tea towel under the offending bare foot whilst youre watching tv and use your toes to lift it and replace it near the starting spot.

Me pal does 30 mins a day in different denominations at 93.

Decathlon sell a 9 inch inflatable ball with a plunger so it can travel with you..£5...fully inflated with a straw ( provided) you could over time..place in the small of your back and learn what sliding down a wall feels like...the ball can be further used half inflated under your back when lay on a floor to provide a soft hand organ massage from your rear ( worth the £fiver on its own).

This hip opener will give you a starter for ten..if its harsh on the floir try it on a bed

Do you work for Viz ;)

Our kid cured my cousin of sciatica, he asked her at a family doo how much she paid for her new car, 26k she replied, he nodded and told her she'd never get rid of her sciatica till she stops trying to smash up her 26k investment. She asked him what her car had to do with the price of fish and he told her anyone can hear her coming from 50mtrs away when she slams shut her 26k investment car doors, the same when she leaves her 4th floor apartment anybody outside on the ground floor would know its her. She told him he was a dickhead and fecked off.
Privately though he'd pricked her and she started on a sneak routine and like magic the sciatica vanished quicker than it arrived..

He didnt fix her ego though, she refuses to speak to him..folk's/stroke's
