City fan suffers broken leg after being attacked at Leeds game

Or perhaps our fans should consider going to some CL games.
There are 9 ticket tout partner organisations who sell tickets for our games and, looking on them, games for many PL clubs. Doesn’t matter if every ST holder attends or every ticket on City’s official ticket site is sold, the ticket partners will ensure that there will be loads of away fans at that game.

Plus 13 ST price rises in 16 years means that many people have pulled out of Cup Schemes over the years to offset the rises. This means many Blues don’t go to CL games, and that’s the club’s fault, not the fans who feel they can’t justify the price rises.

It’s the younger generation I feel sorry for. I have teenage sons who went to their first game at the age of 2, season ticket holders since aged 4 & 6, absolutely City daft, as many aways as they can. They will grow up in an era of atmosphereless football, grounds full of half and half phone watchers and away fans sat next to them. There’ll be no Oldham away ladders for them, no 15k Blues away at sjoke for a new players debut, no 14k away fans for an fa cup quarter final, no dare I say swales out demos (or a modern day organised equivalent) just a plastic sanitised soulless stadium. Thank fuck I am 66 and a recent stroke sufferer and won’t have too many years of watching the erosion of our legacy fanbase and atmosphere, it’s not even a gradual erosion the changes over the last 18 months have been dramatic, I really feel for my lads and their continued “matchday experience”. I wouldn’t swap the old days for anything, even if I didn’t completely realise it at the time

I’ve not a clue what happened either Eccles. Apparently it’s all over social media but I don’t have that so I am as in the dark as you are. I hope you are keeping well?
Thanks @BringBackSwales I’m getting there. Being discharged today. I knew I was old but wh3n a doctor asked me yesterday if I knew where I was, what date it was and date of birth I knew it was home time! *lol*
Like you I’m not sure about what happened but it is rumours that caused the Southport riots and that worried me. Hey ho. It will all come out in th3 wash so to speak. :-)

Take care always EB. A legend of a City fan, a proper legacy one

I've had to do exactly that this season.

Plus, I'm still recovering from 2 life saving operations, so all my efforts are going in to make sure I get to at least 10 home League games.

There's no way they're getting that ST off me!!

Clocked 5 up, so well on my way!

Yes i was surprised to hear someone saying they got chased by them. They never gave a good account of themselves from my memory as you said. Absolute shite houses, okay on their own turf though.
I think this was what I mentioned in another thread. Shithouses was right. They came out of the ground from North Stand and took a left in to families and starting going through them. If they’d have taken a right instead they’d have met the Kippax. They knew that of course though. I can only presume they either sloped off when things coming back at them or got what was coming?

Agree on this mate. For me the experience is with Everton. Some great memories, but the game has changed so much now.

Leeds we on about ???

This is what happens when the club uses 9 ticket touting partners, can't sell out home matches, makes it harder for genuine City fans to buy and transfers tickets, etc.

You end up with the club giving away tickets or selling them at a reduced price to school parties, who then begin waving their mobile phone lights on the 3rd tiers of the Colin Bell stand and the East stand.

To angry chants of.... You can stick your fucking torches up your arse from SSL1.

I can’t see anything wrong with this. Better than standing next to some miserable git who moans about every pass

Yeah 2 lads I know were thrown out of the ground at candlefield last season, bailed by misery side police, season tickets immediately suspended by the club and banned for away games - this was for several months despite no further action from miseryside cops, 3 months without being able to go to games and no compensation from the club for the games their seats were empty

Do we know for sure they were empty, or did the club sell them on?

They can still police it like they did with the Lech Poznan game. Loads of fans with Polish surnames living in the UK bought tickets in the City end and then had them cancelled and re-allocated to a second away end located in - from memory - the 3rd tier of
I was in level 2 east stand that night. It was bordering on scary the way the stand moved and vibrated when the whole of level 3 did the poznan. Rather than watch the game I was more concerned watching the whole stand move thinking it was going to come tumbling down at any moment;-)
