Not really. I think he nust doesn't want to play him qith Erling unless he has to. I think he thinks they both lack a bit of basic technique that hrlps keep possession. You can afford one because of their massive upside elsewhere. But 2 is rough
Last season when we switched to 4222 it was because Haaland went out injured.
Peps solution of the 4222 was to play with 2 false strikers who never occupied the CBs but instead played around the opposition fullbacks.
So we saw Savinho, Bobb and even McAtee play that RS role, and why I think Pep thinks Haaland can't do it because the role (I think according to Pep) requires more "winger like agile players" whereas Haaland is not that.
So the RS, RAM and RB would make a triangle and combine and do fluid rotations which Haaland isnt really suited for (I partially agree with that).
We still do those fluid triangles in the current 433, but we use a RW, RCM and RB, but keep Haaland as a focal point at the same time
That's why I think we havent seen it, and since Haaland came back we never used it as Pep always wants Haaland as a focal point.
Now if Haaland is injured, why can't we switch to this system? Probably because they dont have the muscle memory for it anymore is my guess or something but I wish we brought it back as a plan B when Haaland is rested.
