PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Chelsea getting their result before ours haha

They will unfortunately only get a fine imo as they offered up the findings so that will be a mitigation on their behalf. They have actually cheated though as they gained a sporting advantage and signed players that won them major trophies when they signed a lot of them particular players with off the books payments!

It worked for Hitler.

Personally I dont wish anything bad for all other clubs except the truimvirate red cartel. They can cease to exist and I will die happily. But we obviously need the competition from other clubs . Chelsea are stupid should have kept quiet about Roman Abromavichs misdealings as its firstly different ownership and it's highly unlikely it would have been discovered. I mean you can see their stupidy with all their player dealings. I know plenty Chelsea fans and 99% of them favour City as their 2nd team.

Our hearing ended a year ago. Chelsea might be ages away from hearing the result.
The timeline for all this is a lot shorter than the City PL matter.

The deadline for Chelsea to respond to theFA charges was mid September so to get to a hearing in less than 3 months suggests that there have been little to no issues with discovery etc.

The suggestion is that the IC will be handing down the punishment themselves. My guess is that the bulk of the hearing will be around any mitigation/ aggravating factors. It has been reported that a part of the clubs submission was that a forensic accountant has established that even had sums been correctly reported been put through the books as it were that PSR/FFP compliance would still have been achieved.Who knows how all that will play out but the fact that the club self reported always meant that process had to be followed

It is interesting other than the odd snippet very little has come out re our 74 many of the charges relate to the same incident .I know that our clubs owners are briefing that they are expecting a fine and there is still. I are far from sure but there is still in excess of €100 m on deposit to settle these sort of matters.

All that said even if the FA give no more than a fine there is still the PL investigation on going

Paying a player of book for him to sign for your club instead of another should be points deduction! My guess a big fine maybe a transfer ban! The media will report it for a day or two not much uproar in the media never to be brought up again and it will all die down after a day or two!

Is this one being investigated by the FA, rather than the PL mate? If so, why?

If I recall correctly, part of the consideration when deciding punishments for PSR breaches (see Everton/Forest) was whether their misdemeanors had led to sporting advantage or not.

Making payments off the books to secure players they otherwise wouldn't have signed sounds like a pretty clear sporting advantage to me!

10pts deduction per charge and stripped of all trophies won during the offending period. Absolutely disgusting that we had to play a Champions League final against a bunch of cheats.

I’m imagining the scene at EPL Mission Control. Masters and his lickspital cronies gathered together to work out their cunning plan “Thank Feck Chelsea coughed the job. We’ll give them a big fine. We can use it to pay the compensation in roubles to City. Job sorted.”
