Crystal Palace (A) I PL I Post Match Thread

Yes probably not a masterclass but I thought we defended well and we haven't said that much this season. I think our forward line can destroy anyone so getting the defence right is crucial. I am very optimistic about this team which is rapidly improving. Nico O'reilly and Nunez have been superb for starters. I am shocked I am saying that as I had almost given up on Nunez.
O'Reilly's progressing by the game. Absolutely undroppable.
They huffed and puffed a lot, causing us a few problems in the first half, but we coped well and seemed a class above them today. After such a tough midweek game at R.M., today's result and performance should be given the big kudos it deserves. In fact, 3 very tough games in the last week and 3 wins, which I didn't expect.
Great header from Erling, who'd barely had a touch before that.
Good finish from Foden.
Nice contribution from Savinho to earn the penalty - hope he takes more confidence from that.
All to play for now. Happy days.

Missed the entire second half, haven't read anything on here, what's the genuine verdict on the performance?

Great win
After a win at RM
We are building momentum
Everyone played their part
Saviinho did well for the penalty
Quitley confident

Hard away fixture, they are always up for it against City with their fans bouncing after the FA Cup Win
Haaland really is a joke. He can go missing for 30 minutes, then the next thing he's scoring from his first chance

For me, we are looking more like a team and unit that does the hard yards and the ugly things well, This City and Pep rebuild have a bit of steel in them and likes the fight. The lovely stuff and passing it about looking good on the eye is being put away, we will face you up and leave a bit on you and win ugly

Still a long way to go and we are still making silly mistakes at times, but boy we play as a unit and together we are hard to beat
Agreed. And this approach is needed when players are tired and playing every 3 or 4 days.
We had a bit of luck today ,but ultimately our class shone thru when it mattered.
Griity performance,away from home,clean sheet,3 pts,Job done.
And breathe.....; )

City won without playing to their full potential; perhaps that's the mark of a champion team. But Pep needs to identify weaknesses, especially defensively, because as we saw, the opposition's attackers easily reached City's goal. I liked the result, but the performance wasn't solid.

Well almost everyone was ecstatic on here after the final whistle so that probably tells you we did really well today ..... it was a bit of a 'rocky' start, but the stunning Haaland goal settled city down, the Foden goal more or less killed them off, and the late penalty was no real surprise because Palace were hoplessly chasing the game by that time, and had left gaps all over the pitch!

Fuck me you have a new scapegoat now Grealish is on loan at Everton..
We win away and you look for negatives as usual..
It's incredible how well we are doing considering half the team is crap, the manager doesn't know what he's doing and we need another 10 new signings in January according to his lot. Obviously it must be down to pure luck. Fuck knows how they coped in the decade between '83 and '03.
