His track record speaks for itself, best RB we’ve ever had and integral to the success we’ve had over the last 10 years……

Pep is like that sometimes.. remember Cancelo couldn't get into the side for 9 months or so and then he became practically undroppable. Takes a while for him to figure it out where best to use the skill set.

Either way Matteus Nunes is justifying himself a new contract this summer!

I've been pretty steadfast since day one he's a top player and would eventually be a great squad player.
What I'm seeing now is just a massive bonus and credit to the player and Pep for making it happen.

What about O'Rieley? Is it different for him because he's younger? If I had to wager, when a new manager comes in, Nico will tell them that he at least wants to compete for a spot in midfield. Nunes is possibly the same.

Or maybe I'm dead wrong, and they're both in love with their new positions; it wouldn't be the first time a player switched positions full-time. Time will tell.

@twosips though I was mad when I said he might be becoming better than Cancelo..

But I think the discussion doesn't seem absolutely crazy anymore does it?

Credit to Nunes for working hard at it and to Pep for finding what seemed to be a coal but was an actual diamond!
 
This man is so talented. He is still adjusting to defending but does so many things right. Probably the best RB crosser of the ball in the Prem with Trent gone and Pedro Porro cucked by Kudus.
 
His composure gives the defence confidence even when we are getting swamped by the opposition he try’s to get the ball down and get his head up yes sometimes it does horribly wrong but I love his mentality.
 
Getting more consistency with his levels of performance.

Understanding how to play the offside trap is improving with each game.

Becoming one of the first names on the team sheet.
