Marc Guehi | Leading target for City (p28)

£65m release in Jan - £50m in summer.

Hence why Liverpool are praying we don't move in Jan, as they can't afford it then :)

Isn’t his release clause only active on the first week of the window? I think a journalist somewhere reported that.

Might make sense why we are further along with him.

He has been told by Holland he has to leave or his World Cup spot is in danger.

Seen that. He has been told he has to play, not leave specifically. And still doesn't mean he immediately wants out at the drop of a koeman comment.

Grealish potentially not having access to an AT spot would diminish his transfer fee as the buying clubs would wait until the last week of the window.
Not sure that's how it works?
The AT value is to the buying club and resides with the player, not whether his current club are utilising his status.

The buying club knows that we need to offload him before the window shuts, so they’ll wait until the end of the window, when we’ll have to take a lower offer or have another Phillips.

I thought I’d seen that as well. But so many people out there on socials claiming they know stuff these days it could be incorrect info

He’s actually being used like a back up to Haaland currently as opposed to being shoe horned in the team out of position at 10 or on the left.

I don’t expect him to leave unless he asks for it.
I'm sure he was bought as back up to Haaland but was also expected to cover wide left and 10. I don't think Pep trusts him in either of those positions. Plus on the rare occasion when he does play as a back up striker he is physically weak. His playing time has been and will continue to be limited in my opinion, a bit like his technical ability.
Semenyo can cover left and right and I wonder if the club look at him and think he has the physical attributes to cover Haaland when necessary.

Potentially. I just don’t think we are ready to give up on Marmoush just yet. There’s definitely a player there and if he’s only playing if Haaland doesn’t only natural he won’t be 100% as he isn’t playing enough to be in a rhythm.

"I think..." Means nothing. Esp when he, Glasner, hasn't signed a new contract himself.

Would be a perfect signing and sending Ake their way seems perfect and a snip at the money quoted. So what if he's OOC in a few months!? It's peanuts compared to what he'd cost if he was under a longer contract!

If he and Palace are up for it, get it done.

Seems like a very uncity like transfer this, have we ever signed anyone in a tussle with other clubs for the signing
We have swooped in when others have failed. Bernardo for example.

This would be similiar. Also Viana brings a new type of business

A lot of raiding the premier league clubs if we go by our targets. Semenyo, Livramento , Guehi and Anderson. Change of strategy maybe? Normally we have targets in other leagues but it’s just been premier league players.
Preparing for the impending loss of homegrown players i suppose.
