6 | Nathan Ake - 2025/26

Useless for the 2nd goal and was totally redundant for 1st, didn't move towards any opposing players, didn't move towards the goal posts, just stood there daydreaming.

Much better tonight I thought after a really poor start to the season. Needs to stay fit now and keep that up. Lots of games coming up we'll need him, but feel like the centre halves are bubbling under pretty well with Ruben and josko pretty steady, khusanov back and hopefully a return to form for Ake

He's still got it. Brentford were mostly toothless but encouraging performance. Likely still needs to be cycled out at season's end but he can provide good cover if he stays fit through the end of the season.

Played well tonight and looked to have a yard more pace than in recent outings but his times coming to an end with us. Been an asset to the squad though and will leave with his head held high and a truck load of medals. All you can wish for really.

Played well with an exception of that long ball over his head when Khusanov had to save him with that risky foul. I would still move him on because he isn't the same player he used to be, looks much slower. I would bring Victor Reis back.

He is going to be useful between now and May, we haven’t been able to rotate Dias and Gvardiol due to nobody being fit enough or being in good enough form when they get a start.

Class last night. Was one of only two players in the team over the age of 22 and lead the team like he was the captain (was he the captain until BSilva came on? I didn’t notice?)

Absolutely fine for home games against teams like Brentford. Wouldn’t risk him away or in the big games

Reminds me of someone like Rob Lee who used to play for the Barcodes & Charlton. Just a proper pro, who's better than we think. Hardly ever let City down and was an integral part of the treble team.

I also think he's a useful player to have around during this transition period, knowing what it took to be part of a great team and I always imagine being respected enough by the newer players to be able to communicate the required attributes are to them. I'd certainly keep him until the end of the season!

Those who want him out need need to look at themselves. Pep gave him the captain’s armband yesterday and he never put a foot wrong. If Dias or Gvardiol pick up an injury or suspension, name someone more reliable than Ake.
