Will we win the league this season?

Another question. Why so many home pl games atm? That will be 4 out of the last 6. Hardly fair, especially around Christmas. Meanwhile City have to travel ruddy miles to hard to get places. Need Arse to North East UK in December, instead of staying cushty in North London. Distinct unfair advantage imo.

And whilst I'm at it, I am furious that the Rags get 2 home festive games - full house and rake the money in. Meantime we get shunted all over the place and our December games are all against not much interest opponents in the run up to Xmas when folk have other things to do. The PL fixture generator is anything but 'random'. They know what they are doing. Nb Dips also got home games. Makes you wonder.....
In fairness to Arsenal (which I am loathe to be), when you look at their past 6 games and their next 2, they will have played 4 home and 4 away - just like everyone else!
The only 2 home games together was the one today and their next on 30th. Every club that was home 26th / 27th / 28th (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) are also at home this coming Tuesday / Thursday.
Likewise, every team who played away 26th - 28th, was at home the game before Xmas and will be home next weekend.
The rags are a full house every home game so Xmas hardly going to bring anymore money in. And even if they do rake in extra money, it's only going into the Glazer and Scruffy Jim's wallets!

I’m pretty sure whatever machinations Richard Masters is directing to hamper, constrain or undermine City don’t extend to the substance of the two PL fixtures immediately after Christmas, especially as the ACN means that this is probably the best time all season to play Sunderland away.

City play 4 PL games in January. Everyone of them is in Manchester*

*One of them is 1 mile out of the city boundary ;)

We've got a nasty-ish set of games from mid-January to mid-February

We play Newcastle (cup) away and then United away in January in the space of a few days
Then we open February with Spurs away, Newcastle home (cup) and then Liverpool away in the space of a week

If we can come out of those games in a good position (either top of the table or close), I think we'd be in really good shape. Other than the Chelsea and Arsenal double header in mid-April, the fixture list is not too intimidating after that Liverpool game

City's playing squad is now performing at a very high level. If City sign Semenyo, then by goal involvements, City will have Haaland, Semenyo, Foden and Cherki all in the top 11 of goal involvements in the league. We used to hit 100 goals a season, and we are now on for 90. I suspect that our goal scoring rate is rising.

Arsenal are giving us cause for encouragement too. They have won their recent games but they have been reliant on ogs to do so.

Our form is going to change over the course of a season but at the moment City and Villa are the form sides in terms of points gained in recent games but Villa were completely outplayed by Chelsea for an hour yesterday. Viewed in isolation, Villa did not look like a title contender yesterday. They survived because Chelsea don't have a goalscorer.

I’d like a 6 point gap Going into that Arsenal game. Pressure off would be nice and then beat them to extend it to nine effectively killing them off there and then.

None of City, Arsenal or Villa playing well but all keep on winning.

Hard to call.

I didn’t watch Arsenal, but even their fans are saying they’re already playing like they’re shitting it and were trying to keep the ball in the corner from 87 minutes at home against a bottom half team and it’s only December.

First teams obviously good enough but looking at the bench yesterday I question whether there’s enough quality there to rotate in to give the guys a rest and deal with up coming injuries. That might prove to be our downfall.

the arse are lucky both Cash and Kamara are suspended

It will be away from home where Arsenal drop points.

I actually don't think they will lose again all season bar hopefully the game against us. It will be draws that will cost them because they don't score enough goals.

I think they win all of their remaining home games.

I actually disagree. I think when the pressure really ramps up especially later in the season that Emirates crowd is going to work to their disadvantage.

Can easily see them picking up a loss or two. Definitely a few draws.

3 will become 2 I feel, with Villa wilting first. After that who knows, but I can't see Arse keeping this pace up. We'll need to punish them accordingly if possible.

In previous seasons we've struggled at our traditional Anfield graveyard, but it hasn't really mattered and we've still been crowned Champions

This time it probably will matter and we'll need at least a draw regardless of how many points Arsenal drop (and that's assuming that we also win at United, Spurs and Chelsea)

Yes, Arsenal still look a bit flaky, but they've already played at most of those venues

Not sure if it will be loses or too mamy draws. I just feel they are lacking goals in their team. If we can rise out the next 4-5 games then I fancy us.

Look; if we wanted logic and common sense, do you really think we'd come on here looking for it? Behave yourself. You've been on here long enough, you really ought to know better.
