Will we win the league this season?

They'll fluke a win v Villa, beat Bournemouth and draw with the Dips. Or of course each opposition could carry on the season of goodwill and continue in the tradition of gifting them points winning own goals and penalties to secure yet another ill deserved 9 points.

Another question. Why so many home pl games atm? That will be 4 out of the last 6. Hardly fair, especially around Christmas. Meanwhile City have to travel ruddy miles to hard to get places. Need Arse to North East UK in December, instead of staying cushty in North London. Distinct unfair advantage imo.

And whilst I'm at it, I am furious that the Rags get 2 home festive games - full house and rake the money in. Meantime we get shunted all over the place and our December games are all against not much interest opponents in the run up to Xmas when folk have other things to do. The PL fixture generator is anything but 'random'. They know what they are doing. Nb Dips also got home games. Makes you wonder.....
Of course it's rigged.

Rags the only game at home & at peak viewing time.

They are are shit and skint so yet again, are being supported by the establishment.

Been happening in plain sight since the Lord was a lad !!

Tha same 10 teams got the 2 main festive fixtures at home on the trot. Funnily enough, as you mentioned, that included Arse, scum, dips. Weird isn't it.

Rags, Liverpool & Arsenal all at home for both games over the Christmas period!!

Nothing weird mate, Yankee cartel red shirts. Rake the dollars, er £ s in from hapless post Christmas coma supporters. Increases the coffers tidy. Interesting that 2 of those fortunate for festive home fixtures selected the PL puppet Master chairman. It stinks and imo its fixed. Let's see what happens next season. You can bet we won't get the two plum date festive ties at home.....

Yes we can do it again. And yes, we will do it again!

Depends how far you go back, but since 2014 there are 5 times we didn't do it either, including one were we were top on NYD.

So history says 50/50 unless 2012/13 is counted and then it is less.

Well Arsenal have been top at Christmas 4 times and never won it. So history suggests they won't do it this year

It's specifically about comebacks, teams that won it after overhauling the leaders.

2014-15: Chelsea ran away with it. There was no comeback that year.
2015-16: Leicester's year, won by 10 points and ran away with it for most of the season
2016-17: Chelsea. They were top for a long time and stayed there.
2019-20: Dips COVID Trophy. Everything was topsy turvey that year.
2024-25: Dips 2.0. Again there was no comeback opportunity.

The years there *have* been comebacks are the ones mentioned.....which City were responsible for.

I think the point is that for every season where we’ve been seriously in with a shout (rather than merely mathematically still in it);when the clocks have gone forwards, we’ve gone on to win it, whether we are first or second at that point. In all the above seasons, plus 2012-13, we were to all intents and purposes, out of it by the start of British Summer Time.

In fairness to Arsenal (which I am loathe to be), when you look at their past 6 games and their next 2, they will have played 4 home and 4 away - just like everyone else!
The only 2 home games together was the one today and their next on 30th. Every club that was home 26th / 27th / 28th (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) are also at home this coming Tuesday / Thursday.
Likewise, every team who played away 26th - 28th, was at home the game before Xmas and will be home next weekend.
The rags are a full house every home game so Xmas hardly going to bring anymore money in. And even if they do rake in extra money, it's only going into the Glazer and Scruffy Jim's wallets!

I’m pretty sure whatever machinations Richard Masters is directing to hamper, constrain or undermine City don’t extend to the substance of the two PL fixtures immediately after Christmas, especially as the ACN means that this is probably the best time all season to play Sunderland away.

City play 4 PL games in January. Everyone of them is in Manchester*

*One of them is 1 mile out of the city boundary ;)
