Antoine Semenyo | Prefers to join City - Ornstein (p73)

I think the buyout clause has £60m up front and £5m in installments if reports are to be correct.

I suppose we'll be looking to pay the £65m over the course of two or three years.

You could well be correct though with Ake in particular as Gaughan has mentioned previously that Ake is open to a move back to Bournemouth and it's a position Bournemouth have lost their best players in the summer.
Now the ffp regulations are getting changed for the rags to revenue based psr does it make any difference if we pay it up front or over 5 years

Need to get this done as soon as possible. If Liverpool are sniffing we've no chance. He'll go to the bigger club with a proven European pedigree - we aren't European Royalty, they are. Also, as we saw with Isak and Wirtz, there is a proven record of the top, top, top players going to Liverpool, old money, as opposed to us, new money. Also their money is earned through decade upon decade of onfield success, ours is from an oil rich state.....

If a player comes along who has a release clause and whose signing would significantly improve your squad, you make it.

How do you know that Rodri will not recover? We did well to bring in Gonzalez but what outstanding midfielder would join City now knowing that they are competing with Rodri and that also assumes such a player is available.
I don't, and none of us do.

We hope he will and we are clearly being very careful with him. We also recognise that he is 30, and though he is a player whose brain is his biggest asset, physical presence in midfield is a real boost.

I don't know if Semenyo significantly improves our squad. I rate him at Bournemouth, as everyone does, but we play differently and face different challenges. We simply have to place our faith in those making the decisions.

Truth!!

On an unrelated note why doesn't @Fordyboy46 rent himself out to countries surrounded by desert and little water. Those massive grey clouds that follow him around pissing rain on his head 24/7 would have plants and trees growing in abundance.

Rodri turns 30 after this season and will still be 30 after the end of next season.

Semenyo's biggest strength seems to be his mentality. He had a difficult path in the past but managed to overcome many difficulties and become a top player. Pep likes mentally strong and hard working players.
