There isnt much quality depth there at all, even though Rodri hasn't contributed much this season he will be a main player

By my reckoning 12 good players who have deserved their place and 2 inconsistent guys. I think Khus and Kova are good. Out of 30 odd players though thats not great.

Injuries, form and fatigue are problems for us, we are doing well to be 2nd with the injuries we keep getting, no wonder the team is fucked. We need a few more players with skills we havent got and positions where we have limited back up. Will take at least this Jan and summer I feel.

It wasn't aimed at Nunes specifically, he's done really well to cover that position but its symptomatic of our overall squad. Zabaleta/Walker/Nunes is a downgrade and its not his fault he's done well but its a step back. And when you add all the other below standard, potential signings these things over a course of a season catch us out.

Completely agree, Nunes is not a right back for a top team. He has done well but hearing stuff like he is the answer is beyond comical. 100% a step down from the very best in that position.

It was obvious midfield needed help 2nd half but no pep leaves a shattered rodders on all game.

Who are these midfielders you wanted bringing on? We didn't have any on the bench or did you not notice.

There was nobody to replace Rodri with in a tight game, nobody.

We had to make a sub on 51 through injury, Doku came on at 70.

A team playing well is not making substitutions every 5 minutes, we were plating well and containing them.

We were doing fine until the injuries.

Those 2 injuries to the centre halfs did for us, plus the fact we didn't get a second.

Stuffiest point Chelsea will get all season.

Not doubting that but I think we are lacking in midfield. Put Fernandinho into this team and we win the game and would probably be top of the league

I think when your/im critical of nunes et al, it’s not that I’m saying they aren’t good players, they just aren’t very good or great players, and ultimately that’s what’s needed in most positions.

Im glad you get my point exactly as it appears you can't criticise a player in a constructive way on here. Everything is taken out of context. Not all but some of our players are simply not at a level to win titles, challenge for domestic and European cuos, nevermind all of them together. And like it or like it not this is the level Manchester City have put themselves at. Long gone are the 80's and 90's if being shit. I really worry Rodri is going to look at this and say you know what ive won everything here and this squad isn't good enough for a few more years and he will leave.

I don’t think Nunes is the problem at all but I totally agree with your point. The team is missing 1-2 absolute dijon footballers

Nunes has been really good all season. Not a problem for me.

I thought we looked tired and the extra 2 days rest helped Chelsea towards the end of the game.

Unfortunately in both games this week we haven’t done enough. The injuries didn’t help.

Our squad isn’t big enough and lacks the depth quality meaning too many games for the same players.

We played well for 20 mins of the first half. Rest was a bit flat I thought. Didn’t create enough second half.

Chelsea were awful so bit disappointing especially after dropping points at Sunderland but not unsurprising.

Thought Nunes was excellent today.

That New Year’s Day late away game was designed to fuck us and it did.

Well he does need to find a couple of players. Perhaps Semenyo will help. But he needs one or two more . Guehi would be a very good addition.

I’m disappointed. Really shocked that our best 3 players didn’t show up today.

Cherki tried his best to make a clear cut chance. Haaland tried running with the ball and even hit the post. Foden missed a chance and hardly did enough yet again.


I guess that’s it. I think I was too optimistic about this team. To expect them to win the league after last season was a little too much.

I’m not sure why we have so many injuries but it’s not looking good.
