United (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Pep and Bernardo saying the rags had more energy. Why?? What the hell do we do in training?

I can take a loss but from the kick off they played like they'd lost already.

I think it's also time to ask if Foden should be largely a substitute or sold and someone much more consistent brought in instead?
We played against Newcastle midweek, which was a big effort. They’ve had fuck all to do all week, coupled with new manager bounce, afcon players back and majority of their injured making a miraculous recovery.

Looking at the team sheet I feared the worst and got exactly what we deserved.

Now if Dalot got sent off, this would of changed the game, playing the majority of the match against 10 men and give us a huge lift.

Onwards and upwards, keep the faith

We deserved nothing but if they applied the laws of the game occasionally in our games, it would help
Nonsense. Both the ref and indeed VAR were on our side.
We all know that pal. Just like at St James parks decisions both games there and the Cup final..amongst countless others. RED LOVING CORRUPT BASTARDS!
Sorry. more nonsense. The ref and VAR were ok today. We were beyond shite and got what we deserved.

I don't care how tired Haaland is, there was a point second half where Martinez just shrugged him off and won the ball.

That shouldn't happen however fkin tired he is - have some bloody fight and pride.

You can fairly say he needs a rest, but if anyone at any other club put in performances like he has for the last 4 or so games they'd be getting dropped, not rested.

The free-kick Cherki took was dreadful - not just for it having no pace and flighted directly at united's biggest player, but organisationally what the fuck was going on? How did they have a 4v2 break? A pathetic challenge by Cherki when he needed to win the ball or make a foul at the very least - I think he maybe showed why Foden has been picked ahead of him (despite being poor) with that.

But mostly it's Pep's fault. He picked this team. He had them playing the high line with Ake in it. Made it hard for ourselves today and we weren't up to it.
That moment when Haaland lost that challenge was beyond embarrassing.

We had that cup game in the week whilst they had nothing but I'm not using that as an excuse. We were poor from the off. Getting beat by them is pants, but it seems we were ill prepared. They're a poor outfit but we should have expected the "new" manager effect and dealt with them accordingly. Extremely bad show from all involved bar Donnarumma.

Yes I agree he been inconsistent for a while that combined with our striker the same it’s worrying!
What’s also worrying is where did that rag performance come from hope they don’t keep that up
Half expected that today, typical of most teams when they have a change of manager. If I was a rag I'd be more annoyed that they haven't done that for the past 18 months

Also have to remember (without making excuses) that we're got with injuries again, played 4 days ago, and we've already played 8 more than they have.

This was their cup final today too, a top 6 place is the only other thing they have left to play for.

That was not a performance of a team inspired by their manager. We've just had our pants pulled down by the shittest rag team that I can remember, raging doesnt do it justice.

Had Dalot be sent off as he should have been, I'm 95% sure we would have still fucking lost. Inexcusable however way you want to dress it up. Fucking shit.

The shittiest rag team you can remember? Bollocks, they played with heart and passion for their new manager. We were well beaten, just accept it. All down to us.

Could have all been wins as well

Defensively we are buying a player from Crystal Palace, RAN is back from ACON Nunes had flu will be back sooner rather than later

So, we could field
Nunes Khus Guehl RAN a huge difference from the starting back four today

Dias is a few weeks off
Different from today but collectively reliable enough to form a solid defence for a team chasing a title? Not for me.

This isn't toys out of the pram stuff by the way because we've lost. It's just an acceptance that this team isn't ready to win a title again yet. I think all those lads you mention there are a downgrade on what we've had in title winning sides in the past.

Easy to point the blame after the fact isn't it.

We just didn’t deserve it. You don’t win games not having shots. Ake playing out of position didn’t help. Not putting pressure on both full backs on yellows didnt help. Not being able to beat the first man on a corner didn’t help.

That being said. They hunted in packs, pressed well and wanted it more, defended like their lives depended on it. Their cup final.

As someone on here said, our season won’t be defined by this but that is all they had left. The just won their cup final. The circle is complete. They are us from 30 years ago.
