Pep Guardiola - 2025/26

Trust me pal there was a few. Im not good get getting old interactions up on here, but in the middle of that run last season when people where calling for Peps head I had people telling Frank and Iraola were the answer.
Managers at lower tier teams doing well are a huge risk. As Alonso has found at Madrid, there is a lot more pressure and expectation.
Frank at Spurs.

For obvious reasons Luis Enrique stands out.

For all Pep has done for football, and City especially.
Why do I always worry about performances in big games?
Why, at the start of the season, am I writing off away games at dippers and rags, and home to spuds?
As innovative as he is, he must analyse why these teams smash and grab the points everytime.
Do something else, Pep, lad. They won't expect that.

Tbh pal, im hoping that Pep turns it around. He's got more than enough credit in the bank for me. I can take a couple of up and down seasons while we rebuild. Whenever and Whoever comes after they won't bring the success of the last 10 years IMO.

I think Pep is a legendary manager, obviously. He is also wedded to a certain style of play and that style of play has brought dividends for upwards of 15 years of football. When everyone was saying that Pep was changing his style this season he was steadfast in every interview that he still wanted a thousand million passes because that is his belief of the best way to play football.

The last three years however the club have seemingly made the decision to stop buying “Pep players”. It started with Haaland and obviously that worked great because we still had 10 other players who could play Pep’s possession based football. The way pep offset Haaland’s weakness of buildup was to move Stones into midfield as we lost our false 9. The issue we have now is we have too many players who are not great at a possession style in the starting 11 and the more we have in the team the harder it is becoming for Pep to play the way I believe he truly wants to play.

It’s like hiring the world’s best classical orchestra conductor but telling him he his musicians are from the sex pistols. Sometimes it might sound pretty good but there will be a few too many that can’t quite do what the conductor wants.

It makes me wonder if they were convinced Pep was leaving so started buying different types of player and then Pep kept staying.

Semenyo is the 2nd top goalscorer
Marmoush had the the top 3 best g/a before this season
Cherki is the most technically gifted player we’ve seen in ages
Reinjders was midfielder of the season in Italy
Nico G was a Barca reject that had good potential (been our most important player all season)
Nypan is a wonder kid
Ait Nouri is an underrated football with high technical ability
Khusonov is a pacey centre back a unicorn
Reis is a nimble young centre back with the best aerial ability
Guehi has over 100 caps, one of the first names on the England team sheet and only 25
Donnarumma was crucial in ensuring PSG won a treble and
Semenyo only just arrived - scored virtually all his goals for Bournemouth. Only time will tell. Yesterday he was scared to death of taking on fatty Shaw.
Marmoush - again looked great in another country and powder puff here. Hence he cant get a kick. Even when Erling is off form.
Cherki - agreed but cost us yesterday with that poor free kick and and attempted tackle for the breakaway. Needs to work on his stamina/fitness.
Reijnders - looked immense, again in a foreign league. Looks miles off it in the PL.
Nico G - has reliably stepped up
Nypan - will probably get loaned out (see Echerevvi)
Ait Nouri - still unproven at a top side.
Khushanov and Reis - young prospects. If Reis was that good why is he not getting recalled when we have a defence injury crisis.
Guehi - Great deal and a great playet
Donnarumma - most recent signing that sits in the world class bracket.

I see future lottery winners are out in force predicting peps going to walk this week or maybe next week or perhaps end of season they got to be right sooner or later

Good post, which makes it very clear that we are in transition, as well as being badly affected, again, by injury
Recall will be dependent on the loan agreement.

Our game has also been sussed.

We have been decent at home on the whole with the exception of the last 2 games but absolutely shite away

We're 2nd in the league and still in all competitions.

If our forward players could have hit the back of the net with all the wasted chances we'd be top. That's not on Pep.

How has he been sussed??

We looked like a Championship side playing an EPL side today, and Pep deserves most of the blame. The game sort of reminded me of the Spurs game earlier in the season. If we had played for an extra hour, we wouldn't have scored. United were more likely to score in the dying minutes of the game. Pep has a lot of credit in the bank, but a lot of that credit gets depleted when we put up that kind of performance at home or in a derby.
Sorry but what the funk is EPL?
Round are way we say the Premier League.

Just sayin.

Set us up perfectly for them to counter attack us.
The second goal was a farce. They had two thirds of the pitch to run into. It looked like a four against two at one point. No one got near to press the second ball after a poor free kick by Cherki or to put pressure on the on the ball as it came out.
No one leading the team on the pitch
Poor from Pep and the players.
