Running thread

Biggest hurdles to your runs, guys? I necked a bottle of wine last night and I'm now going to find it hard to get out for my planned interval session today. To be fair, I've been pretty good with sticking to my training plan over the past few weeks but I need to be consistent with it so that quality sessions are indeed quality. So yeah, alcohol is probably my biggest weakness, along with junk food in the evenings.

Same for me, I like a pint (or 3) at lunchtime on Friday then if I go for more after work I would struggle to get up for parkrun on Saturday

Morning all
15 miles this morning.
Doing the Blackpool Half marathon in 3 weeks and then Manchester marathon in April.
Hope everyone's training is going well.
Great work mate, no training for me just trying to get motivation back to get out couple times a week

Just wondering if you lads listen to music when you're out running, and if so, what are your top choices?

I've compiled my top 10 tracks in this video. Quite a bit of Manc music, but then, I'm biased!

Never had earphones/headphones on when running. Most of mine done on road so like to be aware of my surroundings

I’m having a Partial Knee Replacement next month and been advised by the consultant that my running days are over. Anyone got any first hand evidence/ experience to dispute that?

Well after a couple of months of being out of action (ill spare you the details) its great to be back on the tarmac again

Feel like im starting out again, 60 seconds jogging 60 seconds walking, and can only get a couple of Km in at the moment, but hoping to build it back up slowly over the next couple of months

Ive given this thread (aswell as Strava) a miss over the last couple of months purely due to fear of missing out, but hoping to share my road to recovery as I go along!

Yeah, usually crisps and chocolate in the evening, but I’ve been good since the start of the year and only allowing stuff on a Sunday (I’m working my way through a mini egg bar right now!) after a full week of training.

Managed 19k this morning, so reckon I’ve earned it!

Great mileage! Got an event in the diary?

No experience over here mate, but wish you all the best in your recovery.

The only advice id give is to try and get in touch with a Physio who may have experience in dealing with similar rehab, as my guess is they'd have a very good idea of what the future holds.

Looking forward to following your road to recovery mate

Roundshaw downs parkrun today. Official time of 36.40 which was slower than last week and not surprised. 3 bits like this on each of the 2 laps. For first time ever at it I got lapped
