North Stand Construction Discussion

Was having a good stare over at this at halftime the thing will look very impressive when they merge it with level 2. Shame the club messed it up, we could have had that all safe standing making it a new “home end” shame the club are only arsed about the money.

No perfect design will compensate for a game like yesterday where the vast majority of fans are determined to not get behind the team.

I get what u mean ,but that fact the nearly 50000 turned up in the most depressing week of the year for a match against the bottom of the league, to support a team that has just lost a derby and a match against a team of part timers who haven’t played for 2 months shows the sheer bloody mindness and commitment of our fans ?

Sometimes silence ,says more

Good point mate. I just think the lads could have done with more support and some of our best players (yesterday) didn’t play against Bodo or the rags.

Re the stadium expansion, I think success is going to come down to whether enough singers can be gathered in the same area of the North Stand.

There will be approx. 9,500 seats / standing in the ONE level North Stand.

At least 3,000 will be safe standing and more can be added.

9,200 general admission tickets. Only approx. 300 GA+ seats all on one level.

This is better than only 3,000 safe standing in the current South Stand lower level. It is also much better than being split by away fans, split over 3 levels and almost every cup game being dominated by away fans in City's so called home end.

The safe standing in the new North Stand is likely to be the cheapest in the stadium.

Where are you getting the 300 GA+ seats all on the one level from?

Is that just based on the reported capacity of the one bar, or has there been something else I havent seen.

From what we know so far, if I haven't missed something. As it stands, the approval has 648 GA+ seats on tier 1. With a 300 capacity bar. There has been no change reported to that yet.

There is then a publicised 500 capacity city hall '+'offering with an unspecified number of seats to go with it at tier 0, that involves existing users relocating, and a price of 2.7k published.

It may be a replacement to the 648 above, or it may be additional, and we don't know that or the total numbers yet.

Sorry for seeming pedantic, just checking I havent missed anything, and I have also been (annoyingly) persistent in pointing out assumptions the other way, so just being consistent really.

I think Bert is fishing again, unless he has got some new information that we don’t know about.

Maintain what I said on day one. The horizontal dead panels are what kills it.

That's just me and my take though, overall, looks fine and many will like it I'm sure.

I didn’t know what you meant for a long time, but now fully understand and can’t unsee it, unfortunately.

Not the first time i've heard that lol. Devil in the detail and all that, but at scale always felt that. Still, there have been a fair few improvements made since the first mock-up panel overall.

Question.

Are we now going to have the 300 City Hall hospitality fans at the back of SSL1, and the 270, or whatever the amount is, GA+ fans at the front of NSL2?
