Pep Guardiola - 2025/26

Yeah were six points behind a team that are in their sixth season of their rebuild and have won one fa Cup to show for it. Still in the champions league (don't have to go through the play offs this time) looking like we'll be in the carling cup final, still in the fa cup. What exactly was you expecting in the rebuild?

I'm beginning to think people expect us to be peak Pep, have a look at the players that have been sold.
You could be right. Does he absolutely get the best out of Haaland, Semenyo, Cherki, Dias, Rodri, Guehi, Donnarumma, Bernardo, Nunes, Doku, Savinho (ok maybe not him!)? I don't think he does. You think he does. If that's the argument then fair enough.

Dreadful subs. O'Reilly was doing immense work in midfield for us, covering the gaps and runners. removing him from that position to go left back lead to us falling apart. Should have brought ake on and kept O'Reilly in the middle. Why he's bringing marmoush on in the 94th minute is a mystery. He should have been on after 50 minutes for Semenyo who was utterly wank, had a chance to get him on for Cherki, didnt take it then had the opportunity to bring him on at any point when we find ourselves needing a goal but gives him 5 minutes. Bizarre.

Fucking hell... how deep are you digging that hole?

The buck stops 100% with Pep. It's all on him.

No I agree, ultimately it's the managers responsibility. I just feel we're in this footballing era of people overrating coaching and training alone to fix poor performances

During transitions, it takes time

Here's a genuine question,

He has 18 months left on his contract.

Do people honestly believe we will win the title again under Pep?

My answer is no, we won't.
We won’t win another trophy under pep never mind the league.
I’d even go as far to say if he stays another 18 months he will take us into the Europa league

Time catches up with everyone and football has now caught up with Pep imo. No one fears us anymore and we are a fucking shambles when we concede and the going gets tough! I will always love Pep for what he has done but it’s stale as fuck now and the new players imo aren’t that mentality that Pep can lose his shit and they accept it and push on? It’s a hard watch these days

Do miracles now constitute taking more than 7 points from our last 6 league games?

Against let’s face it - some really really average opposition.

Please don’t dress it up, this run of games has been dreadful.

Not least the results the performances themselves have been bordering disgraceful.
Fitness not improved, set pieces still a disgrace, finishing laughable, attacking play in the final third extremely poor.Tactics still poor. Constant non performances in the 2nd half.
2nd basically because of Haaland in the first few months and spending more than most in the summer and Jan.
All on Pep.

Again explain to me this, how can a midfield 3 of Rodri-Bernardo- O'Reilly struggle to string a few passes together all second half ? I can understand that midfield getting physically dominated (even though playing young big O'Reilly there was supposed to help with physicality but whatever), but if you keep the ball and force the opponents to run around you can nullify the physical disadvantage, now keep in mind they were playing against a fucking rubbish Spuds midfield with so many injuries.

So once again please explain to me how that midfield couldn't keep the fucking ball in the second half and allowed wave after wave of Spuds attacks ? because it's doing my head in.

Two years. We're in the 2nd year. 2nd year of the rebuild.
Two years into a rebuild!!!!

He bought a striker, we needed a goal, that striker sat on the bench until the 92nd minute whilst the one we had stood doing fuck all on the pitch.

Its gone beyond the rebuild. We've bought a new team... It's rebuilt and still shit

He looks exhausted. He looks done. The players are reflecting this.

It’s time to let him go. Im sure he will walk in the summer.

I’ve been concerned for a few weeks that this is true and that he’s already told them, hence the collapse in form and general half arsed performances. There is a distinct Pellegrini season 3 feeling about us at the moment.

Nunes, Doku and Cherki are having their best seasons under him, Donnarumma has been great. Not sure why you've mentioned Guehi and Semenyo when they've both come in and done well. Haaland was on nearly thirty goals before January.

I'm not saying Peps blameless but at some point you have to look at the players constantly giving the ball away and not taking our chances.
