Pep Guardiola - 2025/26

When we were taken over in 2008 it took 4 years of finding and growing the players into a serious team those players are not out there unfortunately as we have found out the hard way, Kompany , Sergio , Silva , Toure , KDB,zabba the recruitment the last 2 years we have not signed a player who is even close to the above and that’s why we are struggling

If Peps time is up, who do we get in specifically for this group of players? I'd say Luis Enrique but how does that play out with Donnarumma?
Enrique already apparently said he's not signing another contract at PSG that ends in 2027. I'd be shocked if he was still there next season

I wonder what Khaldoon thinks currently?
he was very clear about us setting standards in previous years, but watching Liverpool winning title, PSG winning treble, now likely Arsenal winning title, while likes of Bayern and Barca both playing much better football generally than us, we need to catch up to these somehow while they all wanted to catch up to us 3/4 years ago.

feels like both Real and us are on bit of a decline, their issues maybe bit of laziness, too many egos, too comfortable, ours seem to be Pep's ideas aint as strong anymore, recruitment level dropped off, some of the hunger is gone too which was most noticable in the summer window of 2024, when Txiki and Pep decided lets not make serious investment have onne more go with old guard while they were past their prime/best big time, ad since then recruitment is bit odd with huge splurge in January windows, and likes of Marmoush, Reijnders aint becoming what we hoped them.

teams nowhere near as scared from us as they were 3/4 years ago. they knew they cannot outplay us or outfight us or outfox Pep. these days all of these happening quite often. managers were scared of City because of how hard we worked off the ball and how well we controlled the ball and tempo. most of this is completely gone, we cannot hold on to a 2-0 lead vs Spurs and it was about them being closer to a 3rd goal than us by the end. Donnarumma had more to do than Vicario says it all.

Nunes, Doku and Cherki are having their best seasons under him, Donnarumma has been great. Not sure why you've mentioned Guehi and Semenyo when they've both come in and done well. Haaland was on nearly thirty goals before January.

I'm not saying Peps blameless but at some point you have to look at the players constantly giving the ball away and not taking our chances.

Most teams reflect the attitude of their coach. Our lads are no different. Pep's gone stale, so have they.

Pep could finish 8th this year and I wouldn’t call for his head
He can leave when he wants

All I know is when he leaves we become the next Chelsea. Maresca or someone inferior comes in for a year then we chop and change managers every season and won’t get near winning a title for a while.

Spoilt self entitled fans need to think carefully

Was Diane Abbott your maths teacher?

But Argyle is technically correct. I think we can all agree, the rebuild needed starting a lot earlier. And yes, we have been pretty poor over the last 2 years. Even the 4th title year we were showing signs of fatigue.

This was precisely the time when I said that Pep should move in and let someone else take over.
He was done at that point. It’s all been downhill since, and it's only the lack of quality in the PL that's kept us at or near the top.

Poor succession planning by the club.

Absolutely hilarious that people think it won’t be possible to win without Pep whilst on the brink of going two seasons with fuck all to show for it.

Please stop this nonsense. The same Luis Enrique who played Donna for the entire time he was there, won a treble with him?

Donnarumma left because PSG refused to bank roll another big contract and tried to be clever by signing another French talent.

Football cycles always come to an end none of us imagined for one minute thought Pep would still be here 10 down the line, maybe his time here is coming to an end who knows and who comes in to hopefully take us on another fantastic journey that Pep has taken us all on.

He wants to play the same slow possession-based football with players who are more suited to direct football. Also, our team looks badly coached, with so many sloppy passes
They don’t look badly coached. They are badly coached. Anyone who watches - especially the second halves - can see it. They’re uninspired. Boring. Stale. And lack all direction.

at HT he had a decision to make, do we go for 3rd one or make us compact, play on counter. we did neither without controlling possession, tempo of game, kept losing the ball, were outran, outfought, players lost so many duels...
And, we also got a couple of minutes at the second half, just we got like 15 min of the second half against the rags, to see exactly where things were going. Just like against United, Donna pulled off crazy saves before conceding. Why the hell is he not proactive any longer? There are so many obvious flaws that I can’t for the life of me understand.
