In the context of bad seasons it's pretty good still. 2nd in the league, in the CL knockouts, semi final 2-0 up in the league cup, 4th round of the FA Cup. But last season we ended up empty handed and having spent a fortune to replenish the squad we're seeing the same performances week after week. The standards at the club are abysmal compared to where they were and there's one man sat there responsible for it. He's got so much credit in the bank but any other manager would be under significant pressure for what he's serving up currently. How many times do we have to watch this City side capitulate in the second half when a team runs at us? How has he not come up with a solution for it yet? Pep at his best would have solved it during a game, now he can't solve it after about two months.
Yes we've got injuries, but we've got a bench with some talented academy players he won't use. Spurs had 12 first team players and still extracted more than we could.
It's a major concern.
With attendances down, there's a lot to be concerned about at the moment and everything points to making a change to freshen things up. It might not be the right decision, but maybe it's the necessary one. If we don't win a trophy this season it's time for him to go in my opinion and we should bring in Kompany to reunite the club with the fans.
