Liverpool (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Under the laws of the game the goal was correctly disallowed. I was amazed however that the player who fouled Haaland got up and ran to the ref to appeal for a foul. Surely it crossed his mind that if it all came back he would be sent off ? I have no idea if it would have just been left to stand if they hadn't kicked up a fuss but seeing how VAR operates I imagine it would still have been disallowed.

The only way around it I suppose is having a veto like in American football if a decision goes in your favour but actually puts you in a worse position. You can decline the decision. Today both sides would have to agree to decline their fouls to let the goal stand and the player stay on the pitch. Or both take the fouls, goal disallowed and he walks. Possibly something hardly ever used but would have suited both teams today I imagine.
It was bizarre behaviour, not sure what he was trying to claim. As you say if he’s pointed out Haaland’s pull on his arm, he must know the ref is going to send him off first

They clearly do as that's what DOGSO is

Quite literally what may happen. That's literally what that law is for.
No they look at it and decide a goal scoring opportunity WAS denied.

Guehi was not sent off earlier because the ref didnt know if Liverpool had been denied a dogso. He didnt rule of what may happen.

The Liverpool lad pulled Haalands shirt, Haalands then pulled the Liverpool lads shirt. These are facts. Please move on I can only reason with people who dont know what they are talking about for so long.

I was worried when we got the penalty because there had been a call for something in our box prior to that, I didn’t hear VAR clearing that up though but it must’ve been nothing.

Well happy!
I didn't see that coming after that 2nd half, but what a great win! :-)

A game of two halves, yet again, but we stuck in there and stole one :-)

We needed that!

Bernardo was everywhere again!

After Donnarumma was dodgy on their freekick, he came up with a fucking brilliant save!

I thought the defence played well, and hope Khus is alright.

Dias slotted right back in and RAN played well. I liked him and O'Reilly on the left.

Guehi was superb again. What a player!

I thought Rodri had is best game since being back.

Erling had a good game. He had two really good chances in the 1st half and had a great assist.
That was a great penalty too, i was nervous, but fair play to him, a great finish and luved his celebration.

Well played CITY!!!!

Here's a thought...

Cherki blasted that free kick over the bar, game restarts with a goal kick and Alison hoofs it up field, one bounce and Salah latches on to it and buries it in the top corner... There would have been a fucking riot.
I’m convinced the ref told him that’s it. No way he does that without that from the ref.

You do realize that you said referees don't make decisions based on what may happen and just laid out how they do, either way.

He made a decision not to send Guehi off because he wasn't sure what may have happened.

Cheers for correcting yourself, takes a big man to do so. Enjoy your evening, I know I will, we won sure.

Massive shout out for Guehi.
He makes us look so solid at the back and uses the ball superbly. Somme of his passing through the lines was exceptional today.
He looks like he’s been here for ages.
Top top signing!
A player you'd love to have by your side when you're in the trenches!

When we signed Donna all the usual no nowts in the media were quick to point how he was shit at passing out Pep style. They were desperate to make every one believe it was a poor signing, after all, the Champs League winners dont get rid of a great keeper do they.
Well today, yet again, showed why we signed him and why he has to be considered as one of the greatest keepers currently plying his trade. That save at the end, after it took a deflection and was hit with real power was so so important.
It just shows how corrupt the media are, they cannot report with any honesty

Cheers Donna. (Im now going to put a tick against your name in the MoM thread.
