Just watched our 3rd goal back and I genuinely dont think that Szoboszlai was getting there

The clip from behind the goal gives a really good view of it, and i just think its rolling in regardless of the pulling of shirts

They were two separate incidents.

It was the correct decision. The blame lies with the cheating scouse ****.
Correct, but actually the blame lies with Alisson. If he'd been back in his own half after the corner, instead of thinking he was Messi, that situation would never have occurred.

Not sure what game you was watching he was bypassed all game especially when Salah was fouled.
He was one of our best players, covering nearly as much ground as Bernado, winning tackles, ghosting past people and generally causing problems. He's better in midfield than at full back and from what I've seen is looming like a mainstay of our midfield for years to come.

That's the game I was watching.

It was the right decision ...... he can't go allowing goals to stand where two blatant fouls have been committed in the build up, and before the ball had crossed the line .... and it was right to penalise the Liverpool player for his deliberate intention of trying to prevent Haaland scoring in the first place.
I might of missed this already, but did Haaland not get a second yellow for the foul, as it goes back to the first offence? Even though it was Haalands foul that took it back…

I'm fairly certain that Cherki passed the ball into space for Haaland or perhaps O'Reilly (if he saw him) to tap in. If he'd been going for goal himself he'd have put more of his foot through the ball.
Nope. It was a perfectly weighted push kick aimed at rolling the ball into an empty net.he did not look to pass.his first thought is to score.thats in his nature it was brilliant.so well measured.
Such quick thinking .
What a Player.no wonder Foden was buzzing on the sidelines,he knows what Cherki meant to do ..and did.
The shot was just perfect.

If your playing a game of football, and you know the oppenents keeper is behind you, with an empty goal, you are not looking to pass to anyone, the weight on the ball was too much for any of the 3 chasing players ..because it was a shot.
Classic Push kick.sidefoot .accurate.

If we were nip-and-tuck with Liverpool for the league, most on here would far sooner have won 2-1 with Sjobidslai suspended, than 3-1 with him still eligible for a tricky Sunderland trip.

As far as Liverpool are concerned, they'd have preferred that too.

Refs should be allowed to both allow play to continue and award a red card, or at least in those occasions when the red wasn't for violent conduct - you obviously couldn't afford to have a loose cannon running around looking to assault somebody else, knowing that he's already probably going to be sent off.

No, presumably because if the game is stopped at the point of the first foul and a free kick and red card is given at that point, the second foul (by Haaland) doesn't occur.

Not only that, but the Liverpool player only gets into that position because he fouled Haaland in the first place.

Whole thing was a farce, if he doesn't foul Haaland, Haaland scores, but either way the ball ends up in the back of the net. That one goal difference could be important at the end of the season.

Actually think Szoboslai did that foul because it was his 'mate' Haaland, who he'd been failing to put off for the penalty. Reckon if it had been Marmoush going past him he'd have left him to it, but he just wasn't having Haaland getting another one over on him.

We'll probably never know, but I disagree - facing the way he was when he received the ball, Cherki knew Haaland was there and knew he'd beat anyone for speed over that distance. So he knocked it into that space and turned it into a race that only Haaland would win.

But it was Haalands foul that took it back, as up to that point it was advantage City

I slept well but woke up at 5.30 still buzzing. We won at Anfield. We beat the dippers in their own home. We won at Anfield.
Last time I saw us win at Anfield..under Keegan..I went wild.our lot..Debs Val JK Sarah Kenny and Dave Cotton ...many more etc etc .....just went on the biggest piss up back to lime street..we drank and danced in every bar on Matthew street,I was dancing next to Val,to the song "Valarie" but I put so much into my dancing I pulled a muscle in my thigh, lol had to be carried off the dancefloor by the lads in agony..upstairs to the gents toilets....pissed out me head.
It was a great night .and we all knew The win at anfield Buzz.no idea how I got back to the station
Got to love Kevin Keegan .Fantastic night out ,didn't give a shit about home fans ...we just bounced from pub to pub.

Then the goal should stand.

To me the goal either stands, as the advantage played was fulfilled, and the tussle is part of an off the ball action.

OR, the goal is disallowed because Haaland fouls Szobozlai, squandering the advantage played.

What they did makes no sense to me, because they are refereeing 3 consequential events by going back to the first.
Absolutely agree. First of all, if Haaland isn't fouled he scores. He is, but the ball ends up in the back of the net without either player ever touching it anyway so either way it's a goal. If you've played advantage then surely it has to play out?

I'd dismiss the Szobozlai "foul", (if you can call him being pulled back slightly as part of the ongoing tussle which was instigated by Szobozlai which to me is the dubious part anyway) because he only got into that position by fouling Haaland in the first place. You've either got to let the advantage BE an advantage (taking into account why Haaland took the action he did), and give the goal, or give it because neither player touched it anyhow.

I could understand it more if Haaland had fouled Szoboszlai then gone on to score himself, or prevented him from getting to another player to prevent the goal.

End of the day they are cheating Scouse scum, couldnt bare losing 3-1 so had to cheat and pull Haaland back , absolutely non-sensical the game was lost , now Slobby and Dippers get what they deserve , the ylose a player for a match they have to win. Sunderland unbeaten at home all season against a Dipper team falling to pieces with no right full back , hope the Mackems stuff them and the Dippers end up in mid-table obscurity where the cheating f*ckers belong
