North Stand Construction Discussion

That’s the seats at the back of level 0 for City Hall. I was referring to where the padded seats are going in the extension for the Cross Bar.
In addition, two new bar spaces will be added to the expanded North Stand:

  • Cross Bar: Located at the start of the expanded section, this space will welcome around 300 fans and offer a relaxed, social atmosphere.
  • City Hall: A new experience for around 500 fans on matchdays, and a hub for events on non-matchdays. This enhanced bar experience will be located at the back of Level 0 (formerly known as Level 1).

Buckshaw is correct, the expanded section referred to is behind the hoardings on Level 1 and has access to The Cross Bar.

City Hall is accessed from the bottom (existing Level 0) and is where the fans in those seats at the back of that tier may (or may not) have to move.

Surely City Hall can't be just for those 500 seats though? It's supposed to hold 3,000 so the eventual layout is going to be interesting. There's not much information there at the moment sadly.

Isn’t the 3000 capacity “city square “ under the etfe roof ??

Yes, City Square is outside of the stand itself under the ETFE roof although the capacity on the Design Statement is given as 2,500. City hall is through the doors/turnstiles under the stand, the capacity is given as 1,800.

Looks like City Hall was meant to hold 1800 people, which would have been great if the North Stand was turned into what it was supposed to be, an atmospheric home end.

But instead it's been turned in a area for the padded seat brigade

Imagine if City Hall were done right, it would amazing place for all vocal support to meet before going onto the Blue Wall. It would have knocked the SSL1 area out of the park as a place to meet before the game

Sorry, I’m trying to keep up to date with this thread and it’s probably been answered somewhere. Is city hall just for people in a particular set of seats?

Yes, but don't confuse City Hall with City Square. City Hall is hospitality effectively built inside the new stand. City Square is open and free for anyone in the covered area between the hotel and club shop.

Possibly, possibly not. There may be 2 distinct areas under the stand but the latest info seems more than slightly disappointing news. We're all waiting for further updates at the moment.

Damn … I thought the Cross Bar was going to be a tribute to David Cross.
