North Stand Construction Discussion

Sorry, I’m trying to keep up to date with this thread and it’s probably been answered somewhere. Is city hall just for people in a particular set of seats?

Wasn't previously, it was a general concourse, that either tier can use. Now it does look like it is for the 500 hospitality offering ticket holders, with associated seats at the top of tier 0.

There IS still a slight chance that the 500 is within a wider 1800, and it is just badly worded or unclear. But the images that go with it, do make me now think that's not the case.

Prediction -

The City Hall and Cross Bar seating will increase over several years depending on uptake.

If the numbers stack, that's a bit of an obvious move.

Both bar areas also have capacity to at least double.

Or if the numbers and uptake don't, both can very easily be re-sold as general admission, as the infrastructure (toilets, escapes etc) is there.

Didn't know if it needed it's own thread or whether it's City related or more off topic. But City have formally announced that the hotel (The Medlock) is formally open for bookings. Looks like from November onwards.. The rooms range from 116 (1 out haha) to 200quid. The premium rooms that face the stadium are generally 20 quid more. You can choose to face the square too. Not sure if this is well thought out if away fans book and put flags in the windows!
Assume blinds come down during a match as alcohol in view of the pitch is off course of limits. £14 a breakfast seems reasonable. It'll do very well next to the arena.

Worth noting, the rooms facing onto the pitch, won't be available or booked as bedrooms on match days.

When you say “face the stadium “ I assume you mean “ face the pitch “ ??

Imagine when we play Madrid or similar. That hotel could be full of away fans

October the 1st bookings from, i'm in one of the rooms facing the pitch first night open :)

No, it'll just look out onto the stadium not Co-op Live. No windows look out onto the pitch. It's not like the Lancashire Cricket set up
There are about 8 rooms directly under the skybar that on matchdays become executive boxes wit outside seats :-)

View from 101(201) last night - back rows of seats all across look like they are all done now

Could be wrong but I think that's just the perspective of the height of the hoarding hiding the first 5 or so rows directly behind it. I don't think all the seats are in, but the next drone video will show that from an angle we can see behind the hoarding.

Has there been anything released about parking at the new hotel? I'm assuming it will be in the blue or orange car park but can't see anything on the Radisson website.

See below previously noted. Not aware of any change since then. What 'allocated' means and how it is managed in reality, no idea.

From what I remember, nothing. The minimum required Acc spaces, cycle spaces and thats it it joins on exiting parking on Alan Turner way. There is a 100+ page transport assessment that effectively justifies this, all the different public transport routes available, and this is not uncommon in urban settings.

Remember that there was an approval in place from 2014 as well as part of the south stand, and the infrastructure is largely there for the stand, which included a future north stand capacity and this is not an increase on that.

I'd have to look at it again for any more detail than that though, and it was some time ago so might need a memory refresh.

Edit, just had a quick look at the TA.
'No additional parking will be provided for the hotel or workspace use and those staff and visitors will be required to use existing on site parking. Around 150 spaces will be allocated for users of the hotel'.
