I'll counter the positivity. I don't think we will sell as many as expected today. There will be a lot left tomorrow 9k+ imo. The members will eat into that but not enough. I wouldn't be surprised if more criteria is required after Friday.

I think you’ll be surprised tomorrow…I’ve got 4 and getting another 4 tomorrow as waiting on one junior member. I know a number that are similar…I reckon they will be gone by close tomorrow but we shall see!

I reckon there will be a few thousand or so in the queue when the first window opens to those members who bought tickets for either Brentford or Newcastle, and the afternoon will be a bloodbath. For me, the additional criteria will kick in if we get an extra allocation of tickets

We've become obsessed by tifos and displays over atmosphere IMO.

Much prefer noise to some waving flags and a banner that is there for 2 minutes pre match.

The atmosphere will take care of itself in a final.

We’ve only had two really good atmospheres at Wembley since 2014 against Sunderland.

Arsenal in 2018 and United in 2023.

Other than that, the other 21 games have mostly been terrible from us for atmosphere. Forest last year wasn’t too bad, but we had loads of empty seats and it wasn’t a final. The final against Palace was the worst atmosphere from us of all our visits.

Even Watford in 2019 were out singing us at times in the second half when they were getting hammered.

I think a lot of people are fed up with the state of the country and just want a good day out as a form of escapism. Excitement for this game seems to be huge. I have bumped into a few City fans in the last few days and everyone seems up for it. Perhaps it’s just timing with the winter coming to the end. Perhaps we just all hate Arsenal, Perhaps we know that it may be Pep’s last final, I am surprised by the response to be honest. The Liverpool win seems to have galvanised us as well.

No team or player ever improved their performance by looking at a flag or banner. Noise is what can influence things.

Don't get me going on light shows. Total and utter waste of time and money.

I agree with you about WEmbley atmospheres too. I'd partly attribute that to Wembley fatique but I remain convinced that it is also down to the sheer range of songs we introduce. Sometimes Wembley is like a microcosm of the Etihad. You've got "Ederson and Ake" going off here, "Bernardooooo", there, "Pablo Zabaleta" in the other corner and nothing catches on. Teams like Watford and Sunderland only had about 3 songs.

It was really disappointing last year. Palace had been excellent against Villa and I thought we'd raise our game. 1894 even coordinated seats together to get something going but it never took off and Palace completely destroyed us. Considering it was only 1-0 and it was our only chance of a trophy it was pretty disappointing. Forest had been okay considering we didn't sell out - we got ahead early though so maybe we're turning into fair weather fans.

Leeds fans can say what they want but if they actually became any good again for any period of time then it's absolutely nailed on that their fanbase will become gentrified in much the same way as has happened to all the other top teams. People forget they weren't actually smashing it atmosphere-wise even when they were challenging at the top end of the Premier League in the late 90s/early 00s. They're decent these days in the main but if they spend 5 or 6 seasons on the bounce in the top flight there will be a drop-off in their atmosphere. We had all this when Stoke came up in 2008 and for the first few seasons it was a good ground for atmosphere but it eventually went to shit.

In any case, for over a decade between 2006 and 2018 they often struggled to more than half fill their stadium. Their home attendances for a perceived big club were - by and large - fucking pathetic. It's only when Bielsa turned up and totally galvanised their fanbase that they started to fill their stadium again. In fact, I recall one game from what I think was his first season as Leeds manager where they were playing Newcastle at home and the commentators were saying it was Elland Road's first capacity crowd for 6 and a half years. Fickle sheep-shagging Yorkshire cunts.

They’re lucky in many respects though.

Playing in their old traditional stadium, long established areas for noise, the importance of fans and atmosphere appreciated by their board, a small capacity which is easy to fill, meaning it’s not partially populated with football tourists and half and half scarves, fans with a point to prove in the stands, as they’re not great on the pitch. Its not unlike Maine Road between 1998 and 2003, when we had one of the best atmospheres in the country.

Yet for all the bollocks that they spout, they would bite the hand off an owner coming in and investing serious money, even with all the bullshit that goes with it.
