1 | James Trafford - 2025/26

I understand why he's want to leave, but if I was him I'd stick around for a couple of years and rack up some trophies first. Goalkeeping is a long career in football, plenty of time to go and establish himself elsewhere.

The hate Sam Lee gets on here is really uncalled for. He annoyed me with the Aguero shit stirring but that was a long time ago now.

The podcast he does with David Mooney is great, arguably better than 9320 now.

And his raggish days are long behind him. He’s a bigger Bert than most on here these days.

In a media full of hateful cunts, Sam is one of the few fighting our corner.
Hard disagree. He is and has never been one of us. Following the gravy train might align with his own moral values, but a Bert he is not.

He's been shown multiple times to be a chancer. Including some of the biggest news in the history of our club which he got emphatically wrong. He's got a following of plastic Yanks who drink the coolaide

It would be hilarious (ok not hilarious) if we find ourselves in the position of needing to sign two goalies again.

It wouldn't surprise me. We also have to factor in the Pep affect on players. Many would have been swayed to come here because he's our manager. If he leaves their enthusiasm may wane a little.

tell that to Bernie & Eddie
But neither of them spoke publicly about wanting to move or said they were unhappy, or weren't playing regularly. As a backup keeper he knows he won't see game time and he will be used in cup games where it doesn't matter what he does, he won't replace the number one.

Bernardo did speak publicly, he did a big interview in the times in 2022 when he said he realised after the pandemic he wasn’t happy with his life in Manchester and told the club he wanted to be in Portugal.

Trafford didn’t say he was unhappy. He said it wasn’t what he expected going into the season and he just had to focus on playing as best he could in every game he gets and improve.

He also didn’t say he wanted to move. He said “ Who knows, it’s football. Every day, let’s take it a day at a time and try and work as hard as I can and whatever happens, happens.”

I think your comment sums up the Trafford situation quite well to be honest. A lot of people have decided he said things he quite simply didn’t say.

don't know about that but Traff hasn't anyway

After watching a programme where consultants are paid a pittance for saving lives I don’t feel sorry for privileged footballers throwing the dummy out .

That’s just not true mate, I’m afraid!

Bernie was very open and honest that he wanted to leave - while always being respectful to the Club.

As far as I’m aware, Trafford hasn’t even gone that far yet.

Exactly this. The club did him dirty. He’ll go to Chelsea and smash it, take over for Pickford and the media will go crazy.

I’m not sure what good backup ball playing GK there is out there.

Still find it crazy because Trafford was an upgrade on Ederson’s shot stopping and with time he could improve his feet which are still better than Donnarumma’s.

If we win big trophies I guess it will all mean nothing.

Feel so bad for him.
If chelsea want him it’s £100 million

Do you think he’s better than Donarunna? No me neither

I’m sure he’s getting by on his wage

Honestly curious
Could you give some examples of this?

Pretty big statement to make. Just nothing comes to the top of my mind on that, but it's possible I'm forgetting something.

NHS Consultants - a pittance?
'NHS Consultants in England have a basic annual pay scale ranging from £109,725 to £145,478 (as of April 1, 2025), determined by years of service and experience. Starting salary is £109,725, increasing to £116,182 after 3 years, £119,490 after 4, and £131,058 after 8 years. Additional pay is available for extra responsibilities and clinical excellence awards.'

see I just don’t get this

Why does everyone think Donarumma is some God of Goalkeeping? He isn’t

This “presence” people speak of - its been worth jack shit in quite a few games/situations. He is crap with the ball.

I must be one of the few who thinks Trafford should be the one the club go with.

One hell of a hill to die on.

That should tell you all you need to know then. Oh look, 98% of people who follow football think Donna is the better keeper but macca doesn't agree so everyone must be wrong.
Crank.

One of them is, in my view, the best goalkeeper in the world, the other one was getting dropped by Burnley last season (a great back up though). Yeah I think you are one of the very few. Your description of Donarumma is so far off the mark it’s incredible
