2026 Winter Olympics

It was but it was on iPlayer. Not that I want to keep watching iPlayer I prefer to see it on proper TV (well it's proper to me!!)
The BBC would sooner have curling... boooorrring. ;-)
I quite like the curling too, well when our lads and lasses were/are in it.

Nick Goepper in the half-pipe rips up his final run, gold medal stuff then on his very last trick goes for a never done before and decks out horribly. Incredibly gets back to his feet and walks down the pipe, cameras zoom in on him and he grins and cackles "I regret nothing". Utterly brilliant.

I thought the young Estonian lad deserved the win.

Norway’s Johannes Klæbo with his 11th Olympic Gold and his 6th of this Olympics.

This one was in the Mass Start but he’s won them in the Individual, Skiathlon, Sprint, Relay and Team Sprint which he also won Gold in each in the 2025 World Championships.

The gretest Winter Olympian of all time.

There must be something in the water over there. Their athletics and football have also seen some epitomes of human sporting excellence in recent years n’all.

I rean article this week on Norway's sports and their approach to it. The thing that stood out for me was, 90% of their kids participate in at least 1 team sport.

That stick save from Toews was unbelievable, nobody's going to call Hellebuyck a choker again. And Hughes coming back from getting his teeth smashed out to score the winner. Great game and promotion for hockey.
