Not disagreeing with your wider point and you're correct about the Spurs defeat in particular as our performance was bereft of energy and direction.
I'd forgotten all about the anger following the Southampton cup defeat albeit that was more.to do with Pep's team selection, and me being stupid enough to travel to St Mary's
However my original post was referring to the period since the collapse at Tottenham last month,.and how we're somehow back in the title race on the strength of an emotional late victory at Anfield and Arsenal dropping silly points.
Regardless of players returning from injury I just don't see us controlling and dictating possession like we've enjoyed in previous seasons and some of these issues will only be addressed in the next transfer window.
It doesn't mean that we can't still win the title but it doesn't feel as though we're in full control
This City team have different strengths: more physicality and pace.
Your control point is a bit overblown. Newcastle barely created good chances in the 2nd half. Liverpool created one big chance and scored a very unlikely goal. We created better chances than them in the 2nd halves.
There are tread-offs with this City: less control but more opportunities for deadly counters. We struggled in the 2nd half vs Newcastle partly because we messed up 5-6 counters because of poor final passes or decisions. On another day we win that game 4:1.
