Classic Rock (Phil Collins lives, run for the hills)

Well, I will be travelling if I get tickets for MCR (albeit I will stay at Our Kid’s and go to gig with him). I may have seen all their MCR gigs, unless they played the MEN Arena at some point.

Demand was huge in the US but it is a much bigger market; however, they are a band whose popularity seems to have grown consistently and their core fan base is as loyal as City’s.
It was also initially just those handful of dates with the impression that could be it. I considered whether I could convince the wife to do a city break to Toronto...

I think the US is a different market price wise but we shall see. US prices were crazy.

I just hope I can get tickets. I expect demand will be high. Hopefully, they will add dates if it is: there are gaps in the schedule even assuming that they will not do consecutive nights.
£77- £213, for Glasgow, presume same for all the UK dates.

Sorted a Manchester ticket for Rush this morning, just shy of £200 for a half decent seat. A little annoyed at the prices, but not surprised. The front blocks £400-£500 - VIP packages far higher, the most expensive is £4k.

Checked the ticketing again this afternoon and one close to me at nearly £400. Dynamic pricing at work.

London and Glasgow pre-sales sold out, and plenty of space for more dates.

Just hope they are up to it by the time it comes round.

Just giving the Vigil album a spin and I can’t believe how good it is. I recall at the time my expectations were so high after the split that I felt both albums were a let down. But it’s only taken me 36 years! I can now see it’s fabulous. Some of his lyrics a bit too self-indulgent maybe, and a lack of Rothery (you know what I mean @Blue2112) result in never properly comparing to the first 4 albums, or be a 10, but I’m moving it up to a 9.

I saw Fish support someone at (IIRC) Shepherds Bush Empire several years ago and was very impressed by how good he was. It inspired me to collect a few of his solo albums and although they have not had lots of plays, they are all really good, this one included.

Would be keen to know who that was.
I’ve never known him support anyone in his solo career, and as such always assumed it was a “thing” for him, to always be the headline act.

But in terms of his albums, Sunsets & Empire and Raingods with Zippos are probably my two favourites.

Saw him in a joint headline bill with Glenn Hughes, the time I think I remember him play with anyone else.,agree Sunsets is my favourite album, but all his solo albums are very good.

It was with Glenn Hughes’s when I saw him at the Empire but seems I also saw him a year later supporting Mott the Hoople @ the O2.

What is scary is the first of those shows was in 2012.

Strong rumours of an imminent press release to announce a new Steve Howe Tribute Band
Yes album titled “Aurora”.
Eight tracks including the album title and “Ariadne” with two bonus tracks.
It will probably join “MTTS” in my “Ill buy it for a quid” list and then be used as a frisbee like “The Quest”.
