Denton and Gorton by-election - Green Party wins

Just heard Sir John Curtice - he said that 28% of the constituency are Muslim but not all are old enough or registered to vote. The Greens got 41% of the vote so in his view the numbers don't stack up for those claiming that the Greens won on a Muslim vote.

Those claiming they've won a Muslim vote are blatantly trying to cope there way out of this. Change is afoot and some people aren't happy about it.

Spencer summed it up best today when she said it wasn't extreme or radical to think working hard should get you a nice life. Nailed it.

Dear oh dear - reported to GMP? No mention of them being an addressee nor having sent them a copy. Second he wants to complain about things that happened but cannot cite one of them with supporting evidence. Grievance performance from a butt hurt man child

"The election was stolen"...

Very Trumpian.

Grifting c*nt.

Maybe this will make Labour wake up and realise they don’t need to chase the ‘stop the boats’ vote and they don’t need to pander to the Mail, Express etc

Get the messaging right and deliver

Good on the winner - we need more Northern/working class accents in Parliament

It’s been a left wing seat forever, it hasn’t ever been predicted as a seat where Reform were expected to win. They haven’t polled ahead there throughout the last few weeks generally and I was reading articles weeks ago saying Green’s expect to replace Labour there.

I do agree, though, change is afoot, Labour and Tory are dead as a dodo and it’ll be more of a right vs left election in the future, for better or worse.

Reform were odds on to win this seat at the start.

SPOT ON.
Focus on the issues that affect the majority of people: inequality, failing services, stagnant wages, the cost of living, tax avoidance, housing.
The media you mention focus on everything else because to focus on those issues is an admission that their choices have failed, and failed very badly. They are also owned by non-doms through complex trust arrangements, or faux TV 'news' stations owned by Dubai investment groups.

They are trying more division: don't be a Muslim, vote for Reform.
It is the same old playbook as wokes and snowflakes.

Labour will need to go much further than just wake up and realise they don't need to adopt these policies. They will need to get rid of the people who were willing to implement these polices, reinforce harmful rhetoric and generally throw decent people under the bus in the first place. The only people Starmer has been brave enough to stand up to seems to be little old ladies holding Palestine Action placards. Starmer, Streeting etc will never be trusted again. They are weak and unprincipled people who arent fit to govern.

She qualified as a plumber and a plasterer

That's what I liked when Sky News announced her.

Made me proud that some are still skilled workers are being elected to serve.

We need more plumbers, plasterers, teachers, nurses, transport workers as MPs representing all political parties.

People that experience the lives of the majority of people they are elected to represent.
