US & Israel attack Iran

exactly the same…. One was a brutal dictator that locked up and killed thousands of his own people though. The other one was democratically voted in. A bit of a difference

All of the Iranians celebrating seem to think differently as well

We do have one. But it would be naive and factually incorrect to believe Trump et al are not trying to erode its effectiveness significantly.
True, which is why I hope, by Nov 6th, he loses the Senate, Congress, Representatives, which he's set to do, I believe.

Did Trump seek Congressional approval for this action as is democratically required? I'll wait for your answer.
No, he didn't.
Has it resulted in the removal of a despotic dictator? Yes.

Everyone knew this was where it was heading. It had been hinted at for weeks. The UN should have done something about Khamenei years ago. You can't address the evils of this world by committee or bureaucracy. Tens of thousands of innocent Iranians have already been lost as a result of the world 'waiting' for approval.

You really do come across as someone who would have opposed intervention in freeing Fortress Europa unless Parliament approved it.

To be fair, neither did or has Starmer who has committed RAF assets before and again today.

Neither is right but it’s pretty much how it seemingly is these days in democracies.

No one is shedding tears over the death of Khamenei et al giving the brutal repression over the years but if you are going to create a leadership vacuum you need to have people lined up to take over as they did in Venezuela otherwise it’s just going to be chaos and then some other mad bastard takes over and then what?

Also, I note that the Americans have stressed it was the Israeli forces that took out the leadership as I don’t think taking out a ‘religious leader’ is the wisest move and could have long term repercussions.

Anyway, fingers crossed that someone has gamed this out and there is someone who can step into any leadership void. Not holding my breath mind you.

No, Republicans are not projected to lose the Senate. They will probably lose the House. This presumes the elections take place normally as they typically have without interference from either a reconstituted, weaponiz(s)ed ICE, a significant change in registrability (currently under threat by what looks like the DOA SAVE Act and/or a new Executive Order), or a combination thereof.

The UK is not involved in the attack on Iran.
