In comparison the Rags have got 5 Metrolink stations close to Old Trafford.
Pomona, Trafford Wharf side, Exchange Quay, Lancashire County Cricket Club, Trafford Bar.
City have got 3 Metrolink stations. Etihad Campus, Asda, Holt Town.
You can walk from Old Trafford to town in 15 minutes along the Chester Road dual carriageway.
I'm not sure about the bus services, but I'd think they are pretty frequent on Chester Road.
On top of that, these are the transport improvements planned for the new Circus Tent, if it ever gets built?
Key Transportation & Development Aspects:
- Rail Expansion: A core goal is to transform the existing rail freight terminal into a dedicated, high-capacity passenger station.
- Metrolink Improvements: Current tram capacity is heavily strained on matchdays, necessitating upgrades to the Altrincham line services (Old Trafford, Wharfside, and Exchange Quay stops).
- Infrastructure Synergy: The transport strategy is integrated into the wider Trafford Wharfside development plan, aimed at reducing dependence on road transport.
- Pedestrian & Traffic Flow: Plans aim to alleviate the congestion on local roads, which currently causes significant disruption to local residents, by creating better pedestrian routes and improved traffic management, especially around the Trafford Park area.
Whilst Andy Burnham has been sucking the Rags cock over their new stadium and promising them what they need to make it all a reality, he's given City and City fans fuck all regarding our transport needs since he became Mayor of Gtr Manchester 9 years ago in 2017.
