TV Series

I only recently got around to watching Better Call Saul. I had put it off for ages because of how much I loved Breaking Bad and didn't really want it to suffer by comparison. I'm really glad I finally gave it a chance, genuinely superb television. It's definitely a slow burn at the start, taking its time to build the characters and story, but once it gets going it really takes off. The writing, tension and character development is outstanding.

A brilliant show in its own right.

Another show I've recently started is Mad Men. I'm currently on season 3. I'm not sure it quite lives up to all the hype it received at the time it was airing, but it's definitely still worth watching. It's a very well made show with strong characters and great attention to detail, and while it can be quite slow at times, there's something about the social atmosphere of the 60's that keeps you wanting more.

Early 80s. The worst talent show ever.

Maybe this belongs in the F.O.C thread

Neither of those songs are from the 80's, never mind early eighties.
Atomic was released late 79, becoming a hit early 80.
Magpie is this century, 2015 I think.
Both are superb songs.
You're either partially deaf, or taking the piss.

I rewatch that and the Sopranos on a year on, year off basis. Sopranos was last year and so in the summer I’ll start this again. Think it must be the 6th time I’ve done both.
Cannot watch either shows enough. I would put better Call Saul up close to it. Maybe not on rotation but still an unbelievable series.

It says 82 and 83 on the thumb nail, but it was a piss take. Just laughing how awful the show looked.

Watching...Trespasses, a Northern Irish drama television series starring Lola Petticrew, Tom Cullen, and Gillian Anderson.
Set in the 70s during the troubles.

Very good so far.

Gone (ITVx).

Starts off promising and descends deeper into shitness as the episodes wear on. Some outrageously bad acting and casting.

Finished it as wanted to see if I had the ending sussed, which I did. Saw it coming as soon as the killer was introduced.
Genuinely interested as I thought the opposite. Who did you think was outrageous? I thought the main characters were very good and David Morrissey outstanding.
