PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

"Morning Keir, now about those charges...."

I would imagine the PM advisors would have briefed him as to what happened when city inevitably comes up in conversation?

I’m not saying, it’s the main topic by any stretch due to ongoing warmongering but Mansour and Khaldoon proudly display city’s trophies for all to see. You can’t hide away from the conversation, even if it’s just a remark on the league cup win or the current title race, if you could call it that.

Anyway, even if no political interference is in play city would be an unavoidable conversation.

The summer was nailed on when we didn’t hear anything official at the start of the year.

It will cause the least damage and will allow the foaming to take place away from a current season. The first presser for pep next season could be immense.

WC and wars, finding a club not guilty of disguised owner investment is not that big of deal.

It’s played out the way it was always going to. Throw the charges and mud will cling to any success. Long game this will be a win for the club into the next 100 years.

The rules are bullshit and completely unfair. Ask Forrest and Leicester. Chelsea have made a mockery of it all. That’s before you look into how Arsenal and the rags have avoided any kind of scrutiny and sanctions.

Trump's team realised that most people take far more notice of podcasts and social media than the legacy mainstream media and they hammered that route. Harris's team were slow on the uptake and she looked like Nixon v Kennedy when it came to media. I'm no fan of the Orange Narcissist, but his team played a blinder in that election.
We should do the same. Social media is powerful. Mainstream is still vital though. Why can't we do what Ivana Trump did today. Called out all the lying and distorting of facts that goes on. There is no evidence in the public domain the we have done anything wrong but week by week we are told we will be stripped of titles relegated deducted points etc. Constantly called cheats. All she did was stand up to give an official statement. It was a powerful message. Come on City get our CEO to give an official statement and then walk away saying there will be no further statements until the commission findings are published. Meanwhile members of the press should be told they will be held accountable for anything under their control if they take no action. That includes Sky and the BBC who allow their staff and any Tom dick or harry to spew their diatribe.Ban them from our stadium, no interviews etc. Enough is enough!

That's precisely what we did

Agree with that, very good and clear from Stefan. Humphries looked fucking lost at times…well out of his depth.
How people don’t understand (as Humphries admitted) why a business simply can’t hand over all its books and sensitive information just shows how out of touch with reality they are.

One thing with Chelsea though is if the players and their agents didn’t know they were being paid from a non CFC bank account, how did the auditors miss that? Surely they must’ve seen a discrepancy between what a player should be paid and what was sent from the CFC bank accounts? And certainly should have been picked up when due diligence was done in the last takeover.

How long ago? It needs doing again with some suggestions of likely actions to be taken against those who continue to defame our great club. A statement is no good without some form of repercussions.
When the allegations were made. So you don't actually want us to 'walk away saying there will be no further statements'.

No mate, it’s much worse than that. I know three families living near me who’ve fucked off to Dubai (not a place that would attract me)
I had a local builder do £30k-worth for me recently. A real grafter and building his Company - he was in utter despair about tax/bureaucracy. Not just him - but his team of five all felt the same way. Anger off the scale.
My son who’s a “HENRY” is just the same. He’s in the 65% marginal tax rate bracket - another real grafter but getting more resentful by the day, questioning whether it’s worth it. Thank fuck I’ve retired now, though I still pay a healthy sum in tax. If I was younger I’d be definitely looking at emigrating !

Tax is the price you pay to live in a civilised society.

There is a reason its become less civilised.

Around 95% of the posts on this thread are absolutely nothing to do with the thread subject. You're fighting a losing battle if you want to course correct on that one!
Not quite that many but there have indeed been many imaginative excursions exploring the remotest reaches of the topic but some, like those I referenced, are really off the map.

Here is an idea why not stay and try and make the country which basically made them better

All of them have been educated here no doubt, free health care etc

But no they fuck off because of money even though by the sounds of it they are all still doing ok

Absolutely this.

It should be viewed as something you pay to help society be a bit nicer for everyone to live in, but it's harder for that to happen when some focus on using tax avoidance schemes. Yes they aren't illegal, but when so many well off people take that approach - or move abroad - then everyone's roads are a bit shitter, there's a bit more rubbish everywhere etc etc.

16500 looks a big number but it is only 1% of UK based millionaires

If any are like that plumber wanker who looks like a cheap Rod Stewart then good riddance

Most come back anyway as they cannot cope without HP sauce
The plumber you mention, would that be the useful idiot from Denton.

That's a great idea, would be great if the Iranian dispora could do that.
