Will we win the league this season? No

Guessing your not much a fan of Cherki.
I love him. He's got an amazingly high ceiling. He's a killer on the pitch. He has the potential to be exceptionally good and our main creative force. But Pep will know the bits of his game that will need excising in order for him to reach that potential.

Tarquin’s are around 4/6 to win the league at the moment, we’re 5/4, expect that to flip flop if we beat them next week.

Our players have the bit between their teeth now, forget about who we play, we’re better than every team we have to face.

The Tarquin’s are cacking it, they just don’t have the intensity we can raise our game to. I think the final death knell for them will be getting knocked out of the CL by Atletico.
The media are in denial mode. Pundits keep saying :”City won’t win all their games.” If we win on Sunday we just have to match Arsenal over five games. They have three London derbies and Brighton. Sunday is the decider.

I know it's all "part of the banter" or whatever but that bloke with the Arsenal tears bottle... Nah.

There are six games left; it's gonna swing all over the place. Arteta just needs to stick a picture of that bloke and his little "Arsenal tears" bottle on the wall of the Arsenal dressing room next week. Some people really are desperate to be on TV, getting some of the Fanzone Danny/Big Steve coin. It's the kind of shit London fans do, or Paddy Power employees. Yes it's "just a laugh" and if we win the league he can feel free to dig it out his pocket again, but if Arsenal win it from here and their fans go after him then he deserves all he gets.

Almost every title we've won has been won by finishing 1st quietly instead of 2nd loudly. As an organisation (so players, staff, fans) we've got to practise what we preach with the "stay humble" stuff. It's exactly what we've done on the pitch for years. Mellow personalities, quality football, winners. I've not completely given up on the league at any point this season, but if Arsenal pull off a smash and grab next week then that's it 99% over and that guy with his little Arsenal bottle will get mentioned by at least one Arsenal player after the game. Why do it?

Oh, for the memes, for a laugh. Grand.
Gooners are convinced this guy was a plant by Sky. He was conveniently positioned, I’ll give them that. If he was, it’s elite piss taking by Sky. If not, it’s just a bit of fun.

for me the turning point was winning the Carabao Cup, changed the whole dynamic and a win against them at the Etihad will devastate them mentally especially if they get knocked out of the Cl this week 8 -)

We have to do better than them and vice versa.
Assuming we win at the weekend, GD and goals scored may be very similar.
Its a sprint from then on.
One of the managers is going to have to unleash their team on a high scoring run and that is more likely to be Pep.
It could well go down to the last day of the season but the important first step is beating arsenal. If we dont win, then anything after that may be irrelevant

That was my thoughts exactly

Like Pep team and players you keep your powder dry
I dunno, the greatest coach of his generation and top five of all time having a week to tactically prepare Vs a picture of a chunky piss taking Manc. I know what my money would be on.

Not sure if I want them to progress in the CL or not.

I wouldn’t be too upset about Arsenal getting through against Sporting on Wednesday. It might give them a boost of sorts but it will (very likely) mean a bruising two legged SF against Atlètico and we know how gruelling that can potentially be.

I’ve got a feeling they may well get to the CL final and lose there to PSG or Bayern.

We have a lot tougher set of fixtures than theirs.

On paper maybe, but in reality they are likely to play Fulham and W Ham after hard CL games, and that's far from easy.

Even Klopp's Liverpool that won 97 pts couldn't beat W Ham away. Any game may turn out to be difficult at this stage of the title race.

A potential problem for us is that we have to play more midweek games if we reach the FA Cup final: perhaps before and after the final, and that will test our squad depth. We are likely to play 5 games in the last two weeks of the season. Guess we'll have to rotate quite a bit.

I’m like a Boxer puppy right now. Even the missus is fucking fed up of my man child behaviour. I want every game to come quick and fast. I can’t even concentrate on work this morning. My energy is just purely focussed on City, the coming games and us leaving Arsenal a broken mess.

In need reigning in!

I've been a non-believer all season, but if we win on Sunday we'll be favourites.

We have our tails up at the minute, look a fresh squad and are coming good at the right time.
Arsenal have looked decidely average of late.

I don't see Sunday as a given though, these sorts of games when everyone expects the same result sometimes don't work out like that

I've backed us all season, but realistically it's probably now all on who wins next week.

My summary: Arsenal win and they're 9 points clear again with at least +5 GD. That will likely be enough for them.

A draw means we still have a good chance, they would need to lose one more but means they're still favourites, only 3 point difference though (assuming we win our game in hand) so wouldn't necessarily be a disaster for us and keeps the pressure on them, but they'd still have the GD advantage.

City win and on current form you can't see them matching us for the rest of the season and they'll probably drop more points along the way anyway.

Their CL participation could be the game changer. They have a slender lead, won't want to drop out at this stage so need to put a strong side out v Lisbon, risk of injuries, lose and their heads might go again, win and they then have the pressure of the CL semi final ties. Either way it's a bit of added jeopardy for them.
Good post, pretty much how i see it right now.

I went the game yesterday and stayed to watch the players celebrate. I saw close up the joy of them winning and their belief is getting stronger each game. Pep has instilled their belief and player unity within the squad is solid. All the newer players in particular were joyous and happy, they really want to win more silverware.

Khusanov looked like he's fully part of the team now he's learned English, Cherki the same. Momentum is building and the league is ours to win or lose, but i feel confident we'll build on winning yesterday.

Huge game against Arsenal, could go either way but i think we'll beat them if we go into the game at the same level we finished against Chelsea.

1-0 sporting loss then sporting win on penalties
Nah you need Arsenal to go through to lump more pressure on them, if they get dumped out by Madrid and we are neck and neck with them in the league their confidence will be low, just one more loss in the league apart from us beating them hopefully I think they’ll fall apart totally.

Atleti will fucking muller this Arsenal side if they put in any of the performances they've put in in 2026. I actually can't wait to see it.
Hopefully.
I'm happy enough to see them get to the semi final but no further.
Could be Barcelona though and arsenal are well capable of beating them

If they do end up playing Madrid, that will enhance the PL season is over.
