We stopped Northants top 4 all getting centuries, so it can’t be that bad!

Nearly 900 runs scored at the Oval, with the great flocks of pigeons sent skyward every couple of deliveries. They haven’t fathomed that the safest place to graze is between the stumps and the wicketkeeper.

Derbyshire look like they’re playing for a draw already. Run rate barely 2 an over.

The pre match forecast looked to me like the draw would be an almost certainty. The weather factor for Lancs home games makes that draw in Northampton last week all the more frustrating - we really need to win in those scenarios.

That said, were bonus points to strive for in this one I suppose.

Like normal at the Oval it is a good batting wicket, the criticism is a bit daft if you just judge from that clip.

Looks like a nailed on draw for Lanky with the expected rain, can't see Derbs batting twice.
