Arsenal (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

I never said it was Nunes fault.
Its down to Donnarumas ability on the ball.
The point I am trying to make is that Donnarumma is currently Peps choice of keeper and is as opposite to Ederson with his kicking skills as is possible.
He cannot be used in the same way as Ederson was. You are spot on in opposition teams closing him down.
When Ederson got thd ball at his feet, I was waiting to see what he would do.
Its the same now with Donnarumma but in a bad way.
There are very few current PL keepers good with their feet.
It’s his technique. When the ball comes to him he taps it forward and then steps back. It happens all the time and means that for a second he isn’t in control of the football. Stand by for even more pressure on him in the run in. Don’t get me wrong, I love the guy - his passion and shot stopping are amazing but bloody hell he gives me palpitations every time the ball is at his feet.

I agree they played pretty well but if they don’t take chances…. After all we gifted them their goal yesterday.
I still think they will play better away than at home and they will drop points

The two that hit the post were a bit unlucky. Looking at their remaining fixtures they should have enough to win them. You would have said Newcastle would be a tough game but they're in a dreadful run of form and don't travel well at the best of times. Fulham flatter to deceive. They play decent football but can't defend. West Ham have something to play for but Arsenal usually thrash them for fun home and away. Burnley at their place will fold. Palace away in the last game could be a tricky one.

The celebration comments really riled me. When you win such a hugely important game of course you're going to celebrate. How the fuck he's got that gig is beyond me.
Its also highly hypocritical as their team and supporters have been celebrating every win like champions for months now, deluded cockwombles

I've not read all the thread, and there are lots of talking points about a game like that.
The gist of most of it (and on the tellybox) seems to be ignoring, or at least hardly mentioning it, one of the biggest points about yesterday was...........

CHERKI'S CHUFFING GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've noticed since the Carabao Cup Final some of the TV wankers have started to wax lyrical about him. If even they are talking about him he must be something special.

WHAT A GOAL. (worldie I believe the yoofs are saying these days)

It's what fans watch football to see.
Setting up with a bunch of players in front of him - inside the penalty area, don't go that way son I thought.
We all know what happened next.

Keep seeing this rubbish about Arsenal “played well”. Felt it was similar to the cup game with limited football from them. Found both Liverpool and Chelsea better.
Weird that because they played better than was expected and actually tried to play, that the narrative is that they played well. It was tense as it should have been but they were outplayed and the result showed that. They tried to beat us playing football and found they couldn't. I don't think they won an individual dual anywhere on the pitch bar maybe Hincapie vs Semenyo.

That was my reaction to watching MOTD too. That was a stupendous goal. It should have been recognised as such.

Not gonna lie.

I bottled the last 15 and took the dog out. My heart couldn’t take it.

Unbelievable result.

Let’s finish the job for Eccles and Bernardo
Me too! Watched it in a pub down South with a load of Arsenal fans. Had to walk round the block in the seven minutes of added time!

The Tarquins drew at home in April 2023 after being 2-0 up, a pivotal game in our treble season.

Last seven games Hammers have won three, lost three and drawn one, come on you Irons.

You simply don't try and tap it across an empty goal, just whack it in the other direction

Don’t forget when he comes for crosses as well!
