There's something in my Mancunian anti-establishment DNA that triggers a very uneasy reaction to squaring high-end eateries and the next big thing chef dishing out £500 feasts to the lord and gentry, whilst across the road, one of the most deprived areas in the UK can barely afford a skank steak bake.

I know the gentrification of East Manchester is winding its merry way through Ancoats to New Islington, to Beswick and beyond, but let's not forget our working class roots.

The thought of Timothy and Penelope tucking into their Wagu, whilst looking down from the Skybar at the great unwashed below, leaves a slightly bitter taste in this mouth.

Meanwhile, there's the swings on Grey Mare Lane to keep the local kids happy.

Ah I see. Because Ikeas generally lay their stores out so there are no windows out and you lose sense of time and orientation. It was a lighthearted jibe at the clustered zones in those images against blanked off screens and curtains in every direction.

Which are fine tbh and will I am sure work for them and that restaurant. Just a bit of a shame the badge got binned for that.

I was on about the two circa 9-10m tall club badge that was on the approved designs, that was then removed so the restaurant could have 'unimpeded views' onto the coop. Only for said restaurant then to make zero use of those views and cluster its layout inwards. That's all.

The small panel up there is one that will eventually be reglazed.

On a serious note i don't think people realise the upturn in Beswick etc, on Bradford Road "Brunswick Mills" is a new development, ready for 2027, apartments starting from £240.000 for a ONE bedroom apartment up to £450.000 and they are small !
Then on Varley Street houses were sold for half a million 2 years ago.

On a serious note i don't think people realise the upturn in Beswick etc, on Bradford Road "Brunswick Mills" is a new development, ready for 2027, apartments starting from £240.000 for a ONE bedroom apartment up to £450.000 and they are small !
Then on Varley Street houses were sold for half a million 2 years ago.

I will be shitting it when the prices for the houses on the Holt Town proposal are released in the future. Even with a house to sell in Burnage I might have to take out a small mortgage, which I don’t want to do at my age.(FOC) I would love to live close to the Etihad, and close to town.

As I said, I'm sure it will work for them and be good.

It's just a comment on the images, and it is clear they are going for the 'detached' bubble look. Which a lot of these types of places do.
