Southampton fans coming out today

It's strange isn't it? No idea what makes a whole fanbase horrible cunts but everyone i encountered at Wembley that day was. Maybe it's a Midlands thing because I've disliked a few Brummies I've worked with too.
It's not just you and i dont have such a bad experience with Brummies outside of that day in 2020 (know a couple if sound lads who are Villa).
99% of Villa were horrible that day and many have on other days in my time.

5 or 6 of their fans were goading a couple of city fans, with a young lad on Wembley way after the game. A couple of punches got thrown & fortunately a group of city lads jumped in and stopped it, the youngster was terrified. Their fans were fucking disgraceful, I followed city through the 80s and saw most things, but never saw a group of “lads” picking on dads with kids, wankers.
Southampton sh#thouses ....

Nah, they're today. Today's game could be a rerun of that final with the replay at the Swamp. Shocking game, Don't know what those two teams were playing on that day but it wasn't football.

Yeah first thing I noticed on the box, lower tier about the 18 yard line quite a few groups of empty seats in their end, guess they didn’t sell out after all. If they got about 36000 tickets and sold 35000 who were the other 35000? Looked like City probably had at least 30000 and that’s pushing the neutral number past a credible 5000.
City sent 2,400 tickets back, a portion of which went to Southampton... so we sold the other 31,000.

Just to mention that I've been down there and watched city at Portsmouth two or three times in the past and never seen any trouble whatsoever .... come to that though, I've never seen any at Southampton either !
Wait till next season if they come up, after Saturday I don’t think it will be a quiet away game, but the only problem with that will be 95% of the people who were causing the trouble won’t be there, so potentially innocent saints fans might cop for it.

Yeah, if they were in the bottom six, instead of the top six, you could probably knock 15,000 off that average attendance !
Unlikely, given we've got somewhere in the region of 20k season ticket holders and haven't had an average lower than 18k since the move to St Mary's (which was administration season and people staying away when Lowe returned).

I went to the away match last season and the Saints fans that we bumped into were really friendly. I reckon you’re right, it’ll be the hangers on who caused the mayhem on Saturday. Probably been to Wembley more times than St Marys/The Dell.

Glad you had that experience. I only experienced similar sportsmanship from Stoke that day. It was as if my Stokie mate Ian from Uni days who's a thoroughly decent bloke, had a word! Yet it still surprises me how good Stoke were that day, and we know very well what their support can be like!
The whole Stoke FA Cup Final experience was bizarre as they couldn't have been better considering they lost. Its amazing that most even stayed for the trophy lift which is unusual for the losing supporters.
If memory serves me correctly we played them in a midweek game a few days later where our announcer called out their fans behaviour at Wembley and played Delila before the game. Shame there weren't many of them there that night but couldn't really blame them.

It was the equivalent of being at school and finding out the unpopular lad, who you never knew existed, never gave a second thought about had spent years of his life hating you.

Strange club, keep going about there great fans yesterday but they could only muster 17k for the tie against Leicester, in the earlier rounds. Calling others plastic, but turning up for a semi final but never bothering for your run of the mill matches is the very definition of plastic.

Our options are being plastic for having no fans or being glory hunters if we sell out everywhere.

Had a horrible experience in a McDonald’s about 10 miles from Wembley.

Was just my wife, 2 young boys and myself and about 8 stone island wearing Southampton fans came in starting talking about how shit city fans are etc and just being unpleasant.

I did bite back unfortunately and said would you lot take 30k twice a year to old Trafford at £70 a pop and how it was city’s 33rd visit.

Ended up calling my wife fat and telling her to fuck off. Regrettably I didn’t hear them say that until I got back to the car but decided against going back in. Feel bad/guilty about the whole thing tbh. Ruined a lovely day
Don't you dare feel bad for being ten times the men they'll ever be, mate. Folk like that aren't worth your piss. Plus you know they'll be getting filled in a few times over the next few years because it sounds like they're shithouses and probably piss their knickers when they're on their own.

Like the charity shield after the 2011 semi final, I suspect dickhead actions will end up having consequences

I was there. Can't remember what he said. Called out in a positive way I'd hope.

I guess that you can't really blame them. Fuck knows when they'll get there again, so I guess they wanted to "make the most of it" by saying that they took out a few City fans. Small time, but there you go.

Still remember when they fed Dave Jones to the dogs
