Southampton fans coming out today

A dozen games a season at a lower division or non-league team makes you a "proper fan", but 30+ games a season for a PL team makes you a "plastic". - The way minds work below the Premier League.

We never show all trophies won after the final game, probably because the PL want it all to themselves even when we've not won their trophy and coverage will be from elsewhere.

Yeah it's brilliant. Getting stick from Southampton or Palace or whoever else despite the fact they've rarely, if ever, sold out when coming to a game at our place. "See you in the final" or "We'll sell out for the final, will you" is always good bait for them.

The whole Stoke FA Cup Final experience was bizarre as they couldn't have been better considering they lost. Its amazing that most even stayed for the trophy lift which is unusual for the losing supporters.
If memory serves me correctly we played them in a midweek game a few days later where our announcer called out their fans behaviour at Wembley and played Delila before the game. Shame there weren't many of them there that night but couldn't really blame them.
Amazing really after the 1998 last day of the season game and loads of mither with Stoke at games before that.

I suppose the difference to Southampton is that Stoke have nothing to prove.

I seem to remember City fans applauding the Stoke fans as they left the away end as we waited for the team to do a lap of honour.

Yeah I lived in (near) Stoke for a while and there’s a lot of handy fuckers there - tbf it’s a bit of a shit hole too

Of all the trips to Wembley I’ve been on over the last 15 years, the best fans were Sunderland’s at the 2014 League Cup. They even applauded the City fans on the way out of the stadium. The worst unsurprisingly were the rags, dippers and tarquins. Of the big 6 Chelsea were probably the least offensive. A lot of the smaller clubs’ fans were just small time nobheads.

Seems to be a bit of revisionist thinking re Stoke fans. I was in Club Wembley that day, albeit at the Stoke end of the stadium (I actually got it for free, so I couldn't complain). Anyway, at the end of the game, I was at the railing at the front of those seats. I had a scarf on (no replica shirts allowed up there), so I was easily identifiable as a Citeh fan. Suffice to say, the Stoke fans streaming out below me were not particularly congratulatory towards me. I thought it prudent to have a beer or three, giving the Stoke fans a chance to piss off disperse. Maybe you lot got lucky? In comparison, the Watford fans were sound.

Is it the smaller club fans or the plastics that magically jump on the bandwagon when the odd big game arrives ?????

wow, bitter fans ,proper giving us shit , loads of scuffles on the way to Wembley Central, in spoons in Watford ,glad none in here , worse than utd
I didn't see anything worthy of comment.

Five arrests were reported in or around Wembley Stadium for the FA Cup semi-final between Manchester City and Southampton.

What; the Monkee? Not sure I'll be a believer there.

Fed to the dogs eh ? A sad end indeed for a music lovin' young lad from Openshaw ..... I suppose he could have been a little mongrel at times, as we all could, but they must have been barking mad to feed the lad to the dogs, the lad could definitely sing !

News of poor Davy sufferin' such a fate wouldn't have gone down well with his mum, it was bound to up setter !

A talent a certain other native Mancunian singer can only have a wet dream of possessing!

Newcastle fans were probably the best after we beat them at Wembley in 1976, they took it really well ..... yet if you turned up at Newcastle for a league game in those days they chased you all over the f'kn place !
I agree. Lots of scarf swaps. Doesn't make them soft just decent.
