PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

There's one thing in there that I hadn't thought about. I've said previously that I believe the reason related parties is part of the charges is to force us to reveal details of our commercial agreements with Etihad and other partners. Obviously the PL knows this via the APT rules but the other clubs don't.

So while it's pure speculation, I wonder if there's a stand-off over redaction of these details in the final report, maybe even involving going to court.

Are you still confident in your source's information from last year that the PL came out of the hearing badly and the "delay" is due to some negotiated damage control, PB? Or have you been beaten down by He Who Must Be Believed?

Asking only because, even if @Chris in London has pooh-poohed my wonderfully constructed theory that there is some connection to the APT case, the common wisdom on timing (this summer) is still "coincidentally" the same time as PSR gets officially kicked out. I was just wondering if that could be connected somehow.

Where would the PL be in the last ten + years without City. Boring as fook. Just look at that shite turned out last night at the swamp.
Totally agree. The City takeover forced the top 4 to spend money to avoid falling out of the CL places. Had the takeover not happened. These clubs would have happily continued to spend as little as possible to remain in those places. Arsenal were a prime example, by not spending, they failed to qualify from 2017- 2023 a total of 6 years. Which caused massive resentment towards us. Hence the witch hunt building up steam to stop City. Without City the PL would have turned into a league full of mediocre sides and the Cartel happily taking 80m a season and spending a lot less then they do now.

La Liga would have also still been a super power attracting all the money and worlds best player. Another big reason for the hatred from Tapas

Do you wear a tin foil hat perchance?

I’m sure I remember Khaldoon stating he regretted taking the UEFA fine for non cooperation as it just made the club look guilty and tarnished the reputation of all involved.

I think he said we would be proved not guilty and then he would make a “direct statement” once the verdict is released.

He also said he felt sorry for our fan base and the staff at City having this hanging over us.

Apparently Khaldoon was instrumental in freezing the ticket prices for next season and after listening to the fans he ensured the ticket transfer system would change.

Top man, take a bow, Khaldoon Al Mubarak.
He did indeed say he regretted taking a pinch.

And yes take a bow Khaldoon Al Mubarak - the best chairman in all the land in all the world.

Watch her live performance of “this is my life” on YouTube it’s amazing
Nothing will ever erase my abiding memory of old Shirl is Eric Morcambe puttting a boot on her foot way back when the world was NORMAL…..Oh and City were actually a fantastic team back then, just coming of the back of being the FIRST English club to win a European/domestic cup double……..

Funny that for a club with no history that was founded in 2008:)

Oh ffs, mate, just don't.

:) Was just a question. I believe @Prestwich_Blue was told what he said he was told and I believe him when he said he trusts his source. Doesn't mean what he was told was right, of course. I am just questioning whether he still feels as confident as he did given the time that has elapsed. Not sure why it's so controversial or why it's seen as a conspiracy theory, to be honest.

There wasn't a panel. You're correct the PL and Chelsea came to an agreement (settlement) without the use of a panel. I'm not sure influenced each other is the correct term but they would have had to have found common ground that was acceptable to both parties, that's exactly what an agreement is.
This is wrong. The agreement between Chelsea and the PL still had to be ratified by an independent panel.

But unlike City the two parties still came to an agreement so I'm not wrong in the context of the discussion. Ratified or not the two parties found enough common ground to agree.

I still believe the information that the PL came out of the hearing badly. It's hard to see how it didn't to be honest. As has been said before, if they were confident in the main thrust of the charges around sponsorships, I doubt they would have brought the Mancini allegations to the table.

Stefan, Chris and others who are far better qualified than me in legal matters have said they believe the PL would struggle to land the charges, even on the reduced level of balance of probabilities. But if we, in our discovery process, have uncovered uncomfortable or damning evidence on how this whole farce came about, then that's a different matter entirely.
