A disgraceful undermining of the Ticket Points system - again

I always thought they made OSC members buy the £125 ones. Obviously I was wrong.
The branches and branch members got what they were given by the club. If you put your name down for a Cup final ticket via the branch, you had to pay the seat price, regardless of how much the seat cost.

There is a difference between buying a ticket in this way, knowing it carries a threat of sanction from the club and the final situation where the club have allowed OSC members to purchase in the first window seemingly without any qualifying points criteria. It’s our 4th final on the trot and I don’t recall issues selling out our initial criteria for the others, so why change the system? It’s only to the benefit of OSC members?

I have over 20k points and in the cup scheme, I’m not complaining because I won’t get a ticket, I’m complaining because the change isn’t fair to the majority of fans who aren’t in OSC’s and I can’t see a sensible reason why this change has been made.
Sums up my thoughts exactly…has anyone explained why it was changed yet?

Last year I was on the cup scheme 25 year ST holder. Didn't get one first time round. Only got one when they released more. I'll be very surprised if I get one tomorrow not being in the scheme.
Everyone who was a season ticket holder and on the cup scheme last season would have been able to get a cup final ticket.
If you didnt get one initially, that is entirely your own fault.
They went through all the criteria for season ticket holders both cup scheme holders and non cup scheme and onto membership before they were given extra tickets.
And you will get one today if you are still a season ticket holder and are prepared to pay the ridiculous price.

I think you are right with the ticket allocation and cup scheme numbers, which just serves to show how many tickets go sideways, to SC’s, corporates, the clubs touting partners, and god knows who else.
Would the FA allow Wembley tickets to be sold through City's touting partners, if they weren't getting a cut?

To be honest I’ve phoned up city to see what the ticket allocation was on Saturday told it was only for season tickets holders and cup scheme members.and tickets might be on sale to General club members on Tuesday.

Phoned up yesterday day and was told the Same again but try on Thursday.

I don’t understand it be a week by Thursday and obviously haven’t seem to sold many tickets so why keep it so long for Club members .

And I know I’m opening my self to a lot of stick for this comment .

I understand to first priority given to cuo scheme members.

But why season tickets holders that have priority at home league game fixtures and at a cheaper price then the members going to home games though out the season,

I understand the importance of season tickets in the financial situation.

It Generates income before the season starts .

But that probably is the only advantage to a Club for Season ticket sales .

Like I said I’ve open myself to stick
But would Appreciate your comment in a polite manner if possible

Got allocated the £125 one year (or the closest amount to it) and got grief in the Branch. I’ve always said the same thing. Use your points for tickets or treat any ticket allocated via the OSC as a bonus.

A lot of posters have made valid points but I really do hope we sell out after all this. Then the ticket priority can be changed for future finals where there will be more time between semi and finals.

I think it’s harsh they the FA have reduced our allocation.

I've got a S/T and I am in the cup schemes with enough points to get my own ticket, but I usually request it through my supporters club so we're all together.
For the League Cup Final SC allocated tickets weren't made available to buy until very late, even after the game was shown as sold out and some people were worried there'd been an error and that they wouldn't get one.
I'm not sure if this is the reason, but maybe SC members got them earlier for the FA Cup semi and final is just because it's easier for the club's ticket office staff to administer that way.

12 .months is a long time for me but as I say, when my turn came around it stated sold out'. It was later when they released more tickets, I managed to get one.

Just a thought about OSC allocations. I sort of understand why they get extra (although I have never been in one nor really looked into it), that’s fair enough, but it’s in recognition of promoting the club and organising fans to attend (including the hard to fill fixtures) so maybe their allocations for the final should be in some way linked to what they request and take for a semi-final?

For me it’s the fact that as a small group of 5 we have been to every game in the competition including the Newcastle away and the semi-final and still probably won’t get a sniff of a 5th ticket so one of us will be missing out as they don’t have an ST and were ineligible to join the matchday cup scheme. The fact I have been trying to get that 5th member back as an STH for over 5 years makes the fact people can leapfrog them for finals doubly annoying.

Didn’t cup schemers get tickets before non cup
Schemers ?
The point is that plenty of people who have applied through OSCs have got in ahead of many on the cup scheme, despite not qualifying for a ticket in their own right. For instance, my mate who isn't even a season ticket holder anymore could buy one at the same time as me, even though I'm a season ticket holder with over 27,000 points on all the cup schemes. Now I'm happy that he's got a ticket as he's a mate plus it's not his fault that he was able to get one at 10am on Friday - seriously, who wouldn't turn down that chance? - but it's not exactly fair.

I'd imagine only the club and a handful of people high up in the OSC can answer that one. Tim said he thought it was because of the short turnaround between the semi and the final but they also did it for the League Cup Final when the turnaround was longer so I'm not sure whether that's the reason or the only reason.
