Last Film You Saw

The Devil Wears Prada 2, yeah, yeah I know but the Mrs wanted to watch it, and to be honest, it wasn't that bad. Enjoyable storyline and everyone was easy on the eye..

The Rover.
A 2014 Australian dystopian Western drama film written and directed by David Michôd, starring Guy Pearce and Robert Pattinson. Set ten years after a global economic collapse, the plot follows a hardened loner named Eric (Pearce) who relentlessly pursues the gang of thieves who stole his only possession, his car, while forcing the injured brother of one thief, Rey (Pattinson), to help him.

I found myself absorbed in this movie, it's bleak but brilliant.

8/10

Finally got around to watching "Project Hail Mary".

I must have a really high bar for what's good to watch! There's a LOT of plot holes in this film but ignoring the glaring stuff, it becomes passable to watch.

I think what helps it along is that Gosling is mainly acting up against himself and there's no one of any notable gravitas in the film... But, with that said, he's not the best character/ actor in the film!

I'd read somewhere that this film really held up with the 'alpha male' film goers. It's a weak aspect, but I can see how that straw that's being clutched at.

It's... okay for me.

Wuthering Heights(2026)

Now if I'm being honest I've never read or seen any of the films or series, apart from knowing the name Heathcliff and its a love story which isn't by bag. In fact the only reason I put it on is because I heard it was raunchy and was hoping for a naked Margot Robbie. Childish I know.

Anyhow it was okay, the acting was excellent. The two main characters weren't actually very nice though, not sure if that was moving away from the original or not?

6.5/10

Yep just ok ie overrated

Just watched The Outwaters. Found footage in the Mojave desert. Partial rip off of Blair Witch. You could barely see whats happening most of the time. One of the worst films I’ve ever seen. DO NOT WATCH.

The long walk 8/10
Project Hail Mary 8.5/10

But best of all and what a film, Remarkably Bright Creatures 9/10

This was quite a considered and respected response. I appreciated it. But, if I may, this will help you understand my perspective as what would have been better content.

Summary:

Shirley: A genuine prodigy and polymath. Born 1927 in Florida to Jamaican immigrants. Piano from age 2–3, organ in church. Debuted with Boston Pops at 18 (Tchaikovsky). Studied in the USSR, earned multiple doctorates (music, psychology, liturgical arts), spoke several languages. Blended classical, jazz, and spirituals in his trio—recorded many albums, had hits like "Water Boy." Composed symphonies, concerti, quartets, opera, etc. Performed at Carnegie Hall (one of few to do solo concerts there besides Bernstein), La Scala, with Alvin Ailey, etc. Lived in Carnegie Hall studios. Faced segregation despite elite talent, which made his story poignant. Reserved, aristocratic, meticulous, yet versatile.

Tony "Lip" Vallelonga: Colorful working-class character—bouncer at the Copacabana, street-smart talker ("Lip" for his gift of gab), former minor-league baseball, Army vet. Later actor (Sopranos, Goodfellas, etc.). Big personality, food-loving, loyal, protective. His appeal is the everyman contrast: tough Italian guy navigating elite and Southern worlds. His growth and anecdotes make him likable and movie-friendly, but he's not a Renaissance figure.

I do know that Dr Shirley's family were not consulted for this film as they had a different take. What rankled with them was also was the insinuation that Dr Shirley wasn't close to his family because of his 'persuasion'.

For me, it's an irksome film, knowing there are many, many elements bypassed to produce it.

However, I'm glad you got something out of it.
That's all very well but,...............................do they track back ?

Seen everyone except cliffhanger although it may have just escaped my memory.

Just checked was there even a film called cliffhanger in the 70s
