EFL Playoffs time

There's no precedent to look to to guess what the sanction may be.

It could be a small fine or it could be expulsion from the play offs.

If it had been in the league, I guess there’d be a fine and a 3-0 forfeit of the game, but that can’t really be done now having played out the second leg at 0-0.

My gut suggests they’ll get a hefty fine and if they go up, sued by Middlesbrough for potential loss of earnings. All depends on the evidence you mentioned. If it’s multiple times, it could be expulsion.

I reckon it'll be a fine. Simply because I couldn't imagine them pulling Southampton out.

Mate of mine is a legal eagle and suggests the wording of the information given by the EFL thus far about the case and potential change of game is them clearly them expecting and laying the groundwork for an explosion given by the independent panel, or at least being a big possibility.

I'd like to see a them thrown out. I think we need harsher penalties in football rather than just fines. Owners of clubs probably lose more running for the bus than some of the fines given out.

People may want to play it down saying that spying on training sessions wouldn't affect the outcome of the game. Well why do it then? Southampton obviously think it does.

If football wants sporting integrity, then start handing out bans that affect the actual sporting side. Otherwise Southampton may benefit from blatant rule breaking and will laugh off the fine if the Premier League money rolls in.

Sure but it also disadvantages Hull as they've been preparing to face Southampton not Middlesborough.

Come on Ged. They're the plucky underdog, operating on a shoestring where they can absorb losses of between £4-5m every season. Their accumulated losses as at June 2025 were £27.5m after 6 years in the EFL.

It's an astonishing story of success against the odds.
I'm hoping Notts turn up at Wembley in their normal kit and play like Juventus.
Hopefully they won't play like Newcastle.

Just interested if someone can answer me a question regarding Ticketmaster. They are charging Notts fans £3 pound booking fee whilst Salford fans are only being charged £1.50 only are they allowed to do this for the same event ?

Please not Salford a pointless club that will bring a huge 200 to a club an hour away .............
How do they get an allocation of 30,000 tickets when they sent some back from an allocation of 800 to Grimsby.

This could go on. An appeal will be lodged I’d imagine.

What a fucking day in the world of football!

Is it me or does there seem more to this than just spying, i would have thought a lot of clubs spy on opponents

If no appeal, that’s 3 working days left to refund saints fans, reissue tickets on Boro’s
Name and Boro fans to plan a trip to Wembley?!
