The Squad planning thread

Big summer for Viana this.

The club has spent around 450m in the last 18 months (even if there is some debate if last years January window was on him or Txiki, I would assume all of the transfers were done with input from Vianas and not against his will).
It's hard to argue the club has seen an improvement anywhere close to what you could expect from that kind of investment.

65m on Marmoush
52m on Nico
32m on Reis
13m on Nypan
2m on Bettinelli
27m on Trafford
32m on Ait-Nori
48m on Reijnders
=
271 million spent in less than 2 years on players who are, at best, fringe players in our squad.
This summer its time to start delivering players who will make a serious difference or its time to start asking some serious questions.
We won 2 titles to 0 when he joined. How is there no improvement. What exactly would be an improvement ? Winning the triple every year?

id doubt they sell star player tho

Maybe Enzo or Palmer if they forces a move

most likely they will sell bench players - Delap, Guiu, Disasi, Jackson etc

Well there's some real shit in those, so shouldn't expect too much, but it is Chelsea so who knows !

Delap would look out of place in the championship and god alone knows he is such a reckless **** to have in your team.

We might be doing some business with Jorge Mendes this summer just a hunch.

Chelsea need a big sale according to their journalists they might have to take less for players they've spent alot of money on.
I'd have Gusto, I think he's a good player and would provide strong competition to Nunes. However since all the worries at the start of the season right back has been the least of our worries and that tells you how good Nunes has been.

Not sure about Enzo if rumours about him and Maresca being so close are true, definitely not for anything like the money Chelsea paid anyway.

So we've spent 2 years "in transition" and now have the prospect of... Silva, stones, Trafford, Gonzalez, Ake, marmoush, reijnders, Lewis, kovacic.... All leaving. Big question marks about Rodri, his fitness and his contract. Then you have Savinho who is, and I make no apology for this, absolutely fucking shite. Plus a new manager coming in. And a World Cup on the middle of it hampering preparation.

Not the ideal scenario tbh. Last night's events may clouding my judgement but it's hard not to worry about next season already

Last season was a decline. Whilst we recruited in January I wouldn't say it was a transitional season. This season has been the transition and we've won two trophies, finished in the top8 of the CL league phase and 2nd in the league. There's clear progress.

Some will leave and we'll have to see what offers we get but I'd say we're in need of a RB, 2 x CM and a winger/10 in order to cement the squad and go and win the league next season.

We're not far off. I'd expect further improvement from our existing squad, with their age profile.

Transition you say. Well we can make a team out of the recently acquired. Whether it's any good is another matter

Donnaruma
Reiss Khusanov Guehi RAN
Gonzales Reinjders
Semenyo Cherki. Savinho
Marmoush

That's kind of my point though.. of the 11 cited 4 are touted to move already (marmoush, Savinho, reijnders, Gonzales), Reis isn't even in the building. That's 5.

Plus the other 5/6 players either definitely moving or potentially ripe for a move.

That's a lot more "transitioning" after a "transition" year.

More transitioning than Ru Paul's Drag Show

Maybe we can't attract those players anymore.
Yes, the most successful team in the last decade from the most watched league in the world, who can offer among the highest salaries in European football, "cant attract top players".

Of course we can. And even if you are right, we have a handpicked headhunted DoF and perhaps the most expansive scouting network in world football. If they cant deliver top players, then what are they doing here?

Well if we can, why haven't we?
Why did we decide to burn nearly 700m since the treble on second rate players even though world class ones were fighting to join us, just for a laugh?
