Pep to leave at the end of the season

I guess it's not completely implausible that he could do the mother of all u-turns, given how emotional and unpredictable Pep can be, but it seems pretty unlikely to me. Would love to be wrong though, especially seeing how giddy rival fans have been about his departure!
can you imagine the noise if he stays for one more year every press conference, its been bad since december

What "soft signals".

Walking round wembley with his daughter looking emotional after the Carabao final

The video of his face looking into the stands after the FA Cup final

Going to a Stockport match

A sponsor leaking it to Holt

Last night when he said something like "next year we will be back" then correcting himself saying "man city will be back"

Not answering the question directly with a "yes" in 3 interviews over the weekend if he'll be here next season, just saying "i have a contract"

And just his general body language and behaviour the last few months.

If Pep does decide to call it a day, up to yesterday I was happy with the idea of Maresca taking over from him, at least in the short term - after all he knows the way the Club works very well, and did quite well with Chelsea at the WCC and in the CL group stage.
But last night I started to feel uneasy, because City Xtra reported that he wanted to meet up with the players next week, which felt to me like he was in a hurry to get his foot through the door - when most players would want to get away after the Parade/Celebrations on Monday and have a short break before they join their World Cup squads.
And then I read the Tolmie post this morning about the constant leaking from the Maresca camp.
The club has to get to the bottom of it, because the leak came the day before a really important game for us, and was bound to affect Pep & the team emotionally. We couldn't have a new manager who had been any part of such a thing IMO.
Everyone and their granny claimed to have known this for ages. A lot of us including me refused to believe it, till we heard it from Pep. Pep went with the script. But all the journalists, contacts that poeople mention, etc all claimed they knew. Even as far back as 6 months ago the media tried to get it out of Pep, and ramped that right up ahead of the final.

I'm not buying that it was one singular leak nor that it happened this week. The timing of going live was targeted, yes, but the actual premise of him leaving, seems to have been an 'open secret' as they all now claim.

It won't have been Maresca that leaked it. He's not that daft. Nobody is. And not at this time.

Re wanting to see the players sooner, IF there is any truth to it, world cup year, players going away with an unknown after a decade of Pep, maybe it is what the club wants, who knows. IF true. Doesn't all have to be murky and underhand, and particularly at/within our club, it rarely is.

You might have missed the last six months but it was all started by an article by David Ornstein about Maresca telling Chelsea that City has approached him about replacing Pep at City, Yes, the explosion on Monday was fuelled by an article by Oliver Holt he claimed that he was told by a City sponsor , or a leak from one, that Pep was leaving This then promoted the media to release articles they had prepared based on the rumours about Pep leaving which originated from Maresca.
Or... Chelsea!

Long term goalkeeper and fitness coach leaving alongside stalwarts like Bernardo and Stones.

It's mental. I can't get my head around people saying they are excited about Maresca coming in. Is it just part of the coping mechanism? However you look at it, it's a massive downgrade.
Who else is there?
Please don't see Enrique or Kompany who both quite clearly aren't interested.

I am excited tbf, let's see what a different manager can do. Id be excited if it was Kolo Toure as well. We have a squad of talent, why can't someone else succeed with them?"

Did he?
When?
Did he tell just you as I seemed to have missed that bit about him telling us he's spoke to his family.

Weird.
He said last night, shown this morning on tv, he was going to speak to his children, to be fair, he never mentioned his ex, i went on the assumption that his ex might be involved and maybe he/they want to be back together.

Hijack Alonso for manager, just like the chavs hijacked Jorginho & Cucurella from us.

Give them a dose of their own medicine, or at least make the yanks sweat!
