I think it's less about corruption and more likely due to poor training and protocols , along with too few people to do the work . For me the PGMOL has the feel of a closed shop unwilling to consider that those in Stockley Park require a different skill set to those on the pitch . Watching the PL refereeing this season has been like watching a team with a woeful manager making the same mistake week after week in a club that's seriously lost it's way .
At the very least there needs to be a protocol for communication and the conversation needs to be broadcast in real time . If it's working so well , then there's nothing to hide ,right ? Those graphics are seriously bad and are insulting .
As well as the well documented mistakes that every fan complains about there are major inconsistencies in decisions with officials calling offside before a move has played out one week then waiting for VAR the next .. And , on Sunday, it felt again like those of us who were actually at the match were the least informed..and the last to know . The game has become a servant to broadcasting in so many ways ( KO times , the need for 24/7 stories , overpaid pundits ) and refereeing is not immune . More drama means more eyes on the page ....
