Last Monday = Monday of the last week, the 18th.

You're talking about last Monday not this Monday. This Monday is 1st June. Next Monday is 8th June. Last Monday was yesterday but two.

I avoid this terminology to avoid confusion. I always think of this Monday being the next Monday, and the next Monday is the Monday after this Monday. Haha! So I say “this Monday coming” or “Monday next week”.

What people say is different to what is correct.

They know that Monday follows Sunday. Well most of them, some couldn’t guess the day of the week if you gave them 8 goes at it.

If someone said to me next Monday, I would automatic think the next Monday after today but my wife who's brain is wired completely different would think that next Monday is 2 Monday's ahead, so its just easier while losing my patience to ask her the date

2 Mondays ahead is a week on Monday.
