Maybe over time but I think you definitely have to give him a couple of seasons to adjust to the PL intensity, especially at his age.

Feel like Anderson needs a bit of steel and composure next to him to start with. Maybe use Maza like we did Bernardo, becoming the ultimate fill-in player as he matures.

Tbh I most want a Wharton and Anderson midfield base, think that has everything and with Wharton by far the best passing range in the league.

But could well be full backs inverting knowing Maresca.

Pep’s use of NOR has got the best from him, but was quite different to the way our fullbacks have inverted in the past. Bernardo I guess was intended to sit in with Rodri as a result, but in typical fashion he was usually everywhere. Wi gers not putting the graft in didn't help semenyo was terrible at everton and Bournemouth for work rate.

Dias may be quickly becoming surplus with the arrival of Reis.

Poppycock. Rudiger is about to pledge his elbows and slowing legs for another round. Bit harsh calling Dias a veteran at 29, too. Then again, for the twelve-year-old that created it, he probably is.

Wharton would be more of a 6 and we have Rodri. Anderson comes in as the 8 and replaces Bernardo's role from last season.

Gumzy does post some decent stuff, but do wish he had a bit of a bollocks filter, not just him to be fair.

Plus he apparently wants out now pep gone. Might be media or agent mischief. Probably realises he isn’t first choice now. Can see us playing a three with mark g , khus and gvardiol. With wingbacks making it a five if needs be in defence turning to a five in midfield most of time going forward feeding a three of Erling , Doku and semenyo. Rodri, Anderson and Cherki the three in midfield.

Ruben and Reis, maybe alleyne, as centre half back ups. Clearly Dias ain’t going to want that but I think we have had the best of him and he now getting to the age where injuries start to kick in. In short I think he can go with our thanks for all he did. £60m would be a steal if can get that.

If any truth in the Gvardiol rumours we need to sort it out. Personally just sounds like a negotiation tactic as we know City are working on a new deal.

That said can’t imagine he was happy playing as LB, thankfully Nico OR has made that his own.

The competition between Guehi/Dias/Gvardiol/Khusanov is going to be tough. Reminds me of the centurions season when we had Kompany/Stones/Otamendi/Laporte
